I'm afraid I was thinking more about the English airports. The forecast for Geneva seems to be heavy snow Tuesday night and Wednesday, and this morning they had -5 degrees C and mist but the airport is open.

Thanks for your concern - but I really don't think it will happen this season. I've got away for a second break a few times in the past, but this year all the girls I would go with are having babies imminently! We did have a lovely time in France over Christmas, so I mustn't complain

Fair enough, a lot have said the same. But we had some poor service when we went to Saltlik.

However, we found the Keg to be great. The service was excellent, and the steaks superb. We arrived in Banff a few hours late due to a departure delay in the UK and the Inns could only offer bar snacks, but they called down to the Keg, who agreed to keep the kitchen open as we were a party of 10, and they were really helpful and friendly. They were just as good when we went back later in the trip.

I also really enjoyed the Sushi in the Inns, and thought it was good value.

my countdown to this weekend was all a big waste of time!! Got to the snow gates at Glenshee today, waited 2 and a half hours until they decided that the gates/ski centre would not be opening today. They very helpfully told me that it is meant to be a really nice day tomorrow though...when i cant go!!!

Just the one sleep now. Although feeling slightly stressed having just heard our cars broken down, its currently in the garage and hopefully will be mended pretty damn quickly.

We can probably get a lift to Ashford but I don't know how willing people will be to get our dog to the kennels. He's a bit hairy.

This week has dragged - now it's two more wake-ups and I'm on my way.

Skis are edged, waxed and bagged up; Swiss Rail transfer ticket filled in; arrival time notification e-mail sent to hotel. Petrol in the car.

All done early as I have a big rugby day tomorrow - and leave home at 2am on Sunday!! Can't wait. :mrgreen:

Just got all the essential gear out of the wardrobe and ensured that the Xmas pudding I'm still trying to finish off has not finally caused too big a circumference for my pants to go round :shock: Happy to say, that after 10 years of use, they still fit :twisted:

Busy week for me next week, will be away on a training course for work on Tues and Weds, then Thurs is my last work day before the trip, so hopefully the week will fly by.

This time next week i will be an hour into the 330km drive to Baqueira Beret. Just hope i can keep my eyes open long enough to get there after the 4am start because I doubt I'll of got any sleep Saturday night.

I can just get my ski trousers on, but I can't move much in them, so I have to lose half a stone in 3 weeks, or buy more trousers :roll:

I usually go to London, the night before, on the train, so my journey is split into two halves, and it's not quite so exciting/stressful and I can usually sleep okay. All we have to do the next day is go on the underground a few stops to St Pancras and get on the Eurostar direct. Hence if I forget a vital item in my packing, I have another chance to buy a replacement in London (unless it's my passport of course!).

I would not worry too much AllyG, I come in at a hefty 112 kilos (17 1/2 stone) so not too sure they can get much bigger :shock:
