What's the most snow you've had fall while in resort?

Here are before and after shots of our Chalet in Tignes Dec 08.
The second photo is just a day later.

This is the walkway to the door, when we walked in the day before it was totally clear.

And it continued to snow...

Now thats what I call a good dump.

I can't remember the most snowfall I've seen over a certain period, but I do remember one season in Mayrhofen having snow every single day for 6 weeks. It got a bit boring.

Hi,

many moons ago group of friends and myself were staying an the Home Club in Tignes ,and had one hell of a blizzard for about 14 hours, when we got up in the morning as in the photo you could not se the tops of the cars at all.......which was bit of a problem for the plough driver as while driving down the road clearing the snow ,he also cleared two or three cars that were parked with their rear end s hanging out.....oooopppps!

I think that's one of the reasons they try and encourage everyone now to park in multi-storey or underground car parks. We were somewhere, Val Thorens or La Rosiere (I've forgotten now) and they had one day a week when all the cars had to be removed off the road and outside parking so the snow-plough could do a thorough job and clear everywhere of all the built up bits of snow.

We'd never have that problem here. Every time I see a snow plough, absolutely no 'ploughing' was being done.

A few years back I've seen about a meter fall in 24hours. We were snowboarding one day on a piste that had been freshly prepared that morning. By midfternoon there was about 50cm on the piste! So much that we couldn't get going in a lot of places on it. Getting home that evening was a nightmare. It snowed all night till just before sunrise when it cleared up and we has a perfect blue sky all day.

Getting back to the resort was a challenge though. Traffic was chaos with everyone trying to get to the mountains and the roads were a touch slippery to say the least.

Dunno about actual amount /depth but in Pas de la Casa in Andorra a few years ago was so badly snowed in that we had to dig about 50 other cars out of the car park before we could free ours.

Missed our SqueezyJet flight in Barcelona by 24 hours so our "cheap" skiing holiday was anything but in the end - an experience though!

we had 9 days in abtenua, Austria feb 09 and it must have put down 10 ft over the week it never stopped the whole time we were there, i'll try and dig some photos out

Pas de la casa in I think in 1992, the resort was closed for 3 days :evil: but I have a photo some where with a telephone box doubled in size with snow,it was not much fun really
as you could not get around the resort, I managed to find a couple of English lads who drove us into Andorra La Viella but really it was a waste of a couple of days 8)

ADH last week was the most snow I have had in resort whilst i have been there.
