New Year

So incase I don't get online for a few days, heres wishing everyone a very happy and healthy 2010. Just remember this time next year we will all be getting excited about our J2SKI adventure!!!

So here's to you all from a festive Terminal 5, well it's festive for me, I am listening to Apres Ski tunes on my iPod and drinking champagne!! Meeting the old school crowd tonight for New Year then taking my daughter to a fancy hotel in Newcastle for a couple of days so we can go ice skating, take in a panto etc. It is these couple of days that I will put the idea of a wee half term ski trip to her, this might be the time I try two planks :shock:

Can't wait :P

I will wish everyone a happy new year. 2009 has been about as bad a year for me as I have ever had so lets hope 2010 brings more fruitful times and better luck.
I dont really dig new year at all - it is one of the most over hyped events in the calendar for me and I have seen it end up in violence, arguments, and pathetically drunken behaviour involving criminal damage. Why?

Anyway, whatever you are doing, have a good and safe one. Best wishes for 2010. I know I will be waving goodbye to 2009.

Just to wish every-one a happy and healthy new year. Have to agree with Tony, a very hyped up event of the year.
My year 2009 has been not a bad one. Had some lovely holidays, health not bad except chickenpox and a broken toe. Have a new job which I love, to be truthful had I stayed in the old one any longer I probably would have had a breakdown, I was that close to it.
We wont be going out to-night just do not fancy the drunken yobs around here, or to pay ridiculous prices to get into pubs or extortionate prices for a mass produced meal, just 'cos its new year.
So we shall celebrate, just the two of us with an 'alternative new year'.

Happy New Year one and all.

Am with TH on the crap 2009, I've had a pretty rubbish year and can't wait to see the end of it. 2010 here we come!

We're off to friends for a sophiscticated evening (until we get drunk and have a go on the 'sing star'), turn up with some bubbles and nibbles, walk home, nice cheap evening.

HNY to one and all from me. Not going out tonight - 9yr old daughter allowed to stay up to see in the new year. We'll play board games and have a midnight feast. :D

HNY all! Getting together with neighbours & kids for a night in, then down to village square for fireworks at midnight.
Kids are having a fashion show at the minute deciding what to wear! :)

Me...........I'm on my tod! OH back overseas working. Kids off doing their own thing. Invited to several different places, but decided without the old boy, it just wouldn't be the same. So it's me.....the dogs............and a good bottle of red wine.......so not all bad!!!

Happy New Year to everyone too!

The last decade has been awful and I definitely am glad it is all over! Onwards and upwards and surely it can only get better! Been poorly again and spent time in hospital over Xmas having large amounts of steroids pumped into me. But I still intend to go skiing in three week's time! Madness I know but you can't keep a good woman down for very long!

Here's to a good 2010 for all! :lol:

Well I'm sorry to say I was in bed by 23.15 and fast asleep by 23.20, the New year is what you make of it, so make the most of the new year one and all :D

Thanks Wickers! I always try and stay positive which can be very annoying! You would think I would be laid back but it has just made me even more determined- especially when I am well and with MS you really don't know when the bad times are coming. Maybe they never will! This time my coordination is effected slightly but my legs are behaving relatively normal so I should ski! My skiing and coordination are not very finely tuned anyway but that will be me on the slopes- no style, not much skiing ability at all, but mostly in control and wearing the biggest smile you have ever seen! :D

Well I'm feeling surprisingly good after last night. Was home by 2am, up at 9.30 this morning for some scrambled egg on toast, have had a good poo and a can of coke, feeling fine.

Happy New Year to all J2Skiers. Will try to remember to follow the advice of others here and have a quiet night in and an early night next NYE. Thankfully 9 days till we ski - Today I could barely get down the stairs, let alone a mountain! Got to wear dark shades. 8)

Happy New year to all, have just got back from St G this afternoon, Fantastic fireworks in the village last night plus a Torch light proccesion by the Ski school. Super meal with O/H and son. Skied with Salski& family earlier in the week unfortunatley the snow was not good :( but it snowed loads in Les Contamines New years eve. :)

Made it home at 6 o'clock tonight. Edinburgh was outstanding but I am now GBP100, a phone and a Huge Boss scarf worse off. Worth it ;)

Happy new year to all. I woke up on newyears day morning with about 4 inches of snow outside my house in Dublin! My 9 month old daughter got to go out in the snow for the first time, and she loved it. :D

Rather late with this folks, been up to Braemar/Glenshee for a week, with no internet access, but, to every J2skier, and all theirs, a Guid New Year, and lang may your lumb reek.

Good wishes for health, injury avoidance, snow conditions. For those who had a bad 2009, a better 2010.

Ski well, but ski carefully.

Oh, should have mentioned, we enjoyed a traditional Scottish New Year. My OH, plus four ski friends, and maybe twenty or so others, in a hotel lounge, doing reels, flings, Strip the Willow. Followed by a banjo & guitar session, just the six of us, back in our chalet til 3.00am.

Up at 7.00am to feed and walk the dog. :shock:

I was in Les Men, 6.30pm all ski instructors assembled on the mountain holding torches and coordinated themselves to spell out 2009 which then changed into 2010. Then they all came skiing down the mountain like a snake. At 7.30pm there was a huge public fire work display and free gluwein or hot chocolate. After that we went and had a nice meal and a couple of drinks and was in bed by 10pm. We set the alarm for 11.55pm, went onto the balcony and watched all the fireworks that were being set off all over the place and joined in the cheering and whistling that echoed around the resort. Was back in bed at 12.20 and up and at the lift by 9.30!

It was almost magical! :D
