It's Hochgurgl. Over the other side of the mountain (where the lift is going up to the top) is the Dolomites. I'm looking forward to sitting in the Star Bar with a gluwein enjoying the view 8)

We were out on Snowmobiles, rounded the corner to that view. The guide set up camp just around the corner we had hot berry juice, coffee, sausages hot breads all around a camp fire it was wonderful.

I realised to my absolute horror today that I didn't have a picture at work. Obviously, the situation had to be rectified immediately...

We stayed in the hotel Crystal in Obergurgl a few years ago, and they seem to have extended the place considerably. There now seems to be a walkway over the road to the gondola at the entrance to the village from the hotel. There are some nice photos on their website which I thought you might like to see.

For me the memories are the turns, and the place is not so important. I recall the sensations of skiing a run, rather than the atmosphere. This is now on my screen saver. I'll rerun that course in my head every time I look at it.

It was a Carving Cup style race - no speed suits or poles are allowed. Both of which I prefer.

By the time you finish your racing class, you will. Just be prepared to commit to the turns. And I'm the least fit I've been in years. Fell off the the wagons this last year, diet, exercise, and booze :lol:

What a lovely photo Eggman! But it is rather frightening. It looks a bit like something out of Lord of the Rings.

As regards the 'oops' - Pablo told me to click 'preview' before I 'submit' photos etc. so that I don't litter the forum with umpteen of my failed attempts :D . Well done for getting it to work.

I tried that but managed to mess that up :) I took a photo a couple of days ago and managed to loose it somewhere between camara and photobucket )
