Skiing between Munich and Mayrhofen?

Hi, does anyone know of resorts which we might pass close to when driving from Munich to Mayrhofen?
We have an early flight to Munich and are staying in Mayrhofen but as it is only a short break we would like to get on the snow as early as possible, so we are thinking of going to the 1st resort we can find which isn't too far from the road to Mayrhofen, getting 3/4 of a day skiing before travelling on to Mayr. that evening.
Maximum snow time is the objective!
Ricky

Hi Ricky,
You pass Soll or Niederau on the way both about 20mins off motorway,
Goff

I am sure you would pass Garmisch and then Seefeld from Munich

No you dont pass Garmisch, its a fair way off the motorway going south. Niederau is just off the motorway at Worgl. Otherwise the resorts in the same valley as the Hof are worth a look: Fugen, Kaltenbach, Zell, Gerlos.....

Cheers folks, haven't been to Niederau, that sounds like a good spot for 3/4 of a days ski!
Is anyone familiar enough with the place to know if it is easy to park and rent gear close to the main lifts?
If it isn't easy there is always Soll, from memory they have decent parking at the gondola ststion.

Niederau will do you for 1 day, its really small, but there is better skiing over at Auffach. Parking is free right next to the gondola in both resorts.
