Ultimate ski resort

Right then there must be hundreds of resorts visited by forum members.So money no object where would your best resort be ? taking into account ski runs,apres ski,accomodation,picturesque,lift queues and any other factors you would like to consider. Hypothetical qustion by the way I'm not looking to book, just wondered where all the years of experience on here would lead to. All countries allowed not Europe specific.

I have had a long hard think about this and Kicking Horse wins it for me despite: the bitingly cold and relatively dry climate; the lack of a real base area or any town other than Golden nearby; the poorly thought out lift system lacking any real investment or action on original plans and the fact it takes ages to get to.

Favourite resort ~ Niederau
Best resort ~ Vail, I think. No, Zermatt. Nope, A-basin. Whistler, that's it, Whistler. Breckenridge. Cortina. Kaprun. I don't know.

Favourite ski resort - Mayrhofen
Favourite place to ski - Serre Chevalier
Favourite all rounders - St Anton and Verbier
Favourite pistes - Red 7 in Mayrhofen, ski route 12 in St Anton, the itinerary route down to Tortin at Verbier

It's boot-to-knee deep on a smooth, steep base under a blue sky, with no-one but your ski buddies around.

That's been Les Arcs, La Clusaz, Lech, Antagnod, Le Chinaillon, St.Anton... who knows where next time? 8) Can't wait.

But I do have to agree with Ian :shock: that a lot depends on the people I ski with.

Skiing is great fun when in company of your family, it is a fantastic family sport, when in these days many of us including me spend far too much time at work ,,,,,,, it is quality family time 8)

Gotta be Summit County Colorado for me, Brekenridge, A basin, Vail, Keystone all in drivimg distance of each other with some great skiing and apres if you know where to go
