A morning well spent

Mrs H has gone out for the day shopping, and I am not out until 1.30pm so I have spent a couple of hours this morning going through some really good reminders for technique by watching the Warren Smith Ski Academy DVD lessons 1 and 2. Last season I watched the Carving and Steeps sections, and this morning I revisited them and also watched the Moguls and Freeride sections too.

Anyone who is a reasonable intermediate really should get a copy of this DVD. What I found interesting as well as useful was some of the things they said about techniques that you were taught when learning, such as insistence on bending the knees and not focusing on flexing the ankle, and also putting pressure on the outside ski and neglecting the inner leg. Some really good tips and reminders on here.

Lucky you. I have a 2 hour appointment with my financial/insurance advisor this afternoon, and a meeting with my lawyer tomorrow :(

All to sort out the fallout from my accident in July.

Oooh, good luck with your meetings.

I spent the whole morning doing housework...am expecting potential house-buyer.

Will spend the rest of the evening relaxing, webcam watching and looking for the Warren Smith DVD on ebay...Might pop down my local if I can be bothered. :lol:

I have decided to start a blog to record the season and track my goal of 60 days. Really enjoying myself. :D

They came and had a good look around, when they left they said 'Thank you what a lovely house you have'. I'll have to wait for them to talk to the estate agent now.

The blog thing is a good idea...do we get a link to it at some point? :D

Well I spent the morning out running on the fells, coverred about 8.5 miles in glorious sunshine & a dusting of wet snow. Slowly regaining a decent level of fitness after a ten week lay off due to a car accident back in September, always leaves me buzzing when I finish. Should be on target for Xmas to be skiing fit.

Back to the thread WM 1,2&3 Dvd sets are advertised opposite on this J2ski page for GBP17.99, is this a good price? Snowb4ndit please post if you find it cheaper on ebay.

This morning, took the dog to two local locations, both fund-raisers for Guide dogs.

Evening, a walk down at the beach, calm sea, orange-fiery sun setting over the back of the hills beyond the bay.

Was just the right colour for a painting, I'm working up just now, looking across a snow slope, dark treeline, red sunset peeping through, lone skier on his last run down.

I spent the morning shopping with the lads(i know lads shopping?) in westfield getting some crimbo presents for our rents,but one thing i learn't from today was i never knew that there was a ski shop there called Ellis Brigham and that they sell a pair or k2 silencers with tyrolia peak 11 bindings for GBP255 ! BARGIN ! Good stuff. However i might have to invest in that dvd sounds like you had fun lol :)

Yesterday I spent half the day at my godson's second birthday party and had a great time with the family - hence giving an opportunity for all the 'kids' on here to have a lovely time playing about in my French dictionary thread :D

4. Start servcing another pair of skis

Spent the day on a nice road bike ride through the hills around Zurich. Great views of the mountains which had just gotten a fresh dusting of snow. Then lunch in a small town by the lake with a great view of those same mountains.

Then back home to check the weather forecast to find out the next weekend I might be able to ski in those mountains. :mrgreen:

Currently sat watching yesterday's Mens downhill from Lake Louise, dreaming of plenty of snow in Isola 6 weeks today!

Gym this afternoon as moving into serious fitness mode for the next six weeks, then maybe xscape at Castleford tonight for an hours skiing!

Think I should just live in a dirty house and go skiing or cycling in the Swiss mountains. stop to eat lunch by the lake every day....................would I get bored?.........NO! :mrgreen:

Unfortunately don't get to do that every day. I need to work to pay for the toys at some point too. :?
