Thinking logically, it must be somewhere remarkable other wise it's a pointless question in a quiz. Its also a very high angle shot which makes it harder. But I think it's Grindelwald and that is the Eiger on the left.

However the Monch (which should be right of the Eiger) should appear higher than in the photo and it's summit doesn't look quire right. As I say the angle would be unusual for an Eiger shot. Also the peak in the foreground is inconsistent. Hmmm, I don't know.

Why don't you look up to see which are the 10 most famous ski resorts in the world, and then have a look at each of them on google earth to see if any of them look like the photo.

The shape is right for the Grindelwald side of the Eiger but as you say Monch and Jungfrau should be visible. The triangular face looks to be part of the main lump rather than standing out on its own like the Eiger does.

Back LH triangle hill, a bit like the Dom. Not sure if that would put you in Saas Fee, or up at the Hornli Hut looking down.

I'm pretty sure he said, in the beginning, it was for a competition - but he edited that out later, as well as the photo, presumably to stop the other competitors (or the judges!) from seeing it.

You're quite right :D. It's definitely not the Sahara desert, or the Pacific Ocean, or a few other places.

I suppose, as you say, it must be the Alps - do they have different piste signposts in Andorra etc.?

Oh yes, how silly of me, I never thought of that :oops:

Mind you, I think some of those numbers just mean how far down the piste they are, i.e. they give position on the piste for the rescue people etc., rather than the number of the piste, but I don't know how you tell the difference between the two sets of numbers.

No, Tony, I'm serious. I think some of the pistes have names instead of numbers, and the numbers show you where you are on the piste.

Thats exactly what WTSS say about the place. Lots of nice reds, under rated, lively at night if you want it, not many Brits.

I only know of one - Solden in the Tyrol, Austria. Not, of course, to be confused with SoldeU!
