EasyJet Check In At Geneva

Hi folks,

Not sure if it has been mentioned in a previous thread, arrived back from Geneva yesterday and as of October this year all check ins for Easyjet at Geneva are on the Swiss side only from now on as Easyjet have their own propper dedicated check in area.....it's on the Swiss Departure side right at the far end of the terminal check in desks.

Also the big Peage area between Annecy and Geneva is now finnished (the road works) and to avoid going into Geneva the Swiss side and getting stung for the 30 euro "Vignette" as you approach the Peage follow the sign for A410- Annemmasse, so from Annecy the route is A41 > A410 > A40 > A411 (following the signs for Annemmasse ,and then Geneva). Once 0n the A40 near Geneva you will see signs for Telipherique du Saleve, and then after a short while an industrial estate on the right ,when you drive by a large wharehouse/business that is grey with the name Samo in big red letters you are not far from the A411 junction which is just off to the right....take this and you will be on the right road to get back into Geneva, go throught the checkpoint and head up the road,over the cross roads and the road carries on and bears to the right, after about 100 yards you will see an orange bus lane and a right hand turning to the right, take this right and follow the road to the end and turn left, this is the main road which will take you back through geneva to the bottom end of the lake, go over the bridge staying in the right hand lane, and turn right up by the side of the lake,and then you just follow the signs for the Geneva airport french side.

Sorry if i am not very clear, and ramble on a bit.......it's just old age :D

Also on the driving front, the price of Unleaded now ranges bewteen GBP1.34p and GBP1.58p per litre :thumbdown:, and Diesel is roughly GBP1.10p per litre

That's useful to know, but if anyone picks up a car hire from the Swiss side, the Vignette is normally included (but worth checking).

Were they normal check in desks are automated machines? I seem to recall having to use a machine in January!

Hi,

They still had the automated ones in the french side,and all the orange Easyjet barriers, but no one around, on the pillar near the automated machines there was a poster saying all checkins were now on the Swiss side.

When you are on the swiss side head down to the far end and there are the usual Easyjet automated baggage lable and boarding card machines, and there are also propper Easyjet baggage scales/belts and desks etc, Easyjet must have taken over a large chunk of the Swiss side operations.

Also all the duty free area has been changed,and the entrance to show your ticket,passport and if you are lucky get frisked etc has all been changed ,everything is now done in one area,which at peak times will be an absolute bottle neck....bloody hot aswell while waiting to go through the scanner.

I'm sure they know what they are doing.......??????

Yes the Vignette is included from the Swiss side,as are snow tyres and chains in winter(but best to double check when booking).

From the french side, the Vignette is not included ,nor are the snow tyres or chains, these are extra i believ at extra cost,(snow chains would be cheaper purchased nearer to your intended resort from somewhere such as the supermarket "SuperU".

Hi,

Yes a much needed trip i felt, the weather was mostly fine and bright and chilly,but a slight rise in temperature towards the saturday evening with some rain.

Apart from that plenty of walking ,and sitting in bars eating and drinking.....the trouble is now i'm back, it's back to the grind stone :thumbdown:......

......Oh well roll on the next trip :D when are you out to the alps next?

I hope that they don't have the same ski collection point as there was last year so you have to go down the other end of the arrivals to collect them ....Make sure that you make your ski bags individual and easily recognisable ...especially at Geneva...where it was chaos for ski collections last season....I know from my own experience
