J2ski ski

Just wondering what's the highest number of J2skiers that have skied together on 1 trip?

I've done a trip with Ellistine, Skidaddle and myself where Tino joined up so that makes 4, but I would wager there has been more than that before?

Jan 2010 will see 4 of us in a chalet together, and a possible meet up with another one at least, maybe more possibly.

Can anyone beat that so far?

I go on quite a few trips with just me, myself and I, which is only 3 so I'll get my coat.

End Jan. Same 5 as Admin and Mr & Mrs Tony-H

March. Mr & Mrs Ellestine, Mr & Mrs Rusty Inn, Jan, AmandaN, Col, Finn, Didn't all ski together though

I was talking about people who actually met up and skied, not just shared a mountain over a period of time..... :roll:

BTW Dave, it was Xmas week 2008 when me and the OH were out there, same time as the Welsh Ladies but only met up with you.

So, 5 is the current record then?

Sorry Tony, I knew I was breaking the rules. Yes, I did get a bit hazy about what date you were there.

Looks like our posts crossed Dave M. I wasn't hiding but I'm quite shy really and didnt fancy going round all week with a sign saying I'm Paralytic! I also teach kids that they should never meet up with strangers that they meet on the Internet :oops:

Hi Nelly,
I'm planning on going to London sometime over the Christmas holidays - any good?

Tony - I can get away from the cave more often now, because we have less visiting cavemen that I have to clean for.

And I was, in fact, in London a couple of weeks ago on family business. Have you been in London lately during the weekend? The tube system is a complete disaster! We had to get out at Baker Street and catch a replacement bus, and then the following day they'd even shut the overground train I wanted and replaced it with a bus. Something to do with the Olympics I suspect.

I'd love to come but it is a busy time of year for me, time off is at a premium in December in retail, by the way its my birthday on Friday 8)

we should organise a bit j2 ski holiday, we all pick dates and the one that most of us can go we pick and stick and then we pick somewhere that we can get a good bargain. i can probley get a good bargain in Adelboden and some places of Austria, As i work for JEKA during the summer they rent out chalets to us all the time. Could strike a deal for 2010/2011 and get the whole lot of us going :D

Not too sure about Adelboden, till they sort their links between pistes out .

Ian,
I still think the disruption to the London public transport system has something to do with the Olympics. I've never seen such widespread closure of lines for repair work. This weekend, for example, there are 6 lines due for partial or complete closure, and there are semi-permanent road signs up for the replacement buses.

I think its more to do with the fact the London Underground is one of the oldest in the world and if it isnt updated and repaired soon, its going to collapse or stop working.
I spent many years working in and around London and commuted in every day for 3 years so I know what it can be like when there is disruption.

Coming like you do from out of town you probably expect it to work perfectly just how you want it to, but it doesnt. Its a dirty old mess of a system and there are certain lines that often dont run properly because of signal faults and electrical failures, Northern Line in particular.

The Jubilee line is the main one into Stratford now and the station is built. But the Central now gets affected quite often too, linked to the Olympics I believe.

Go to any other capital city in Europe and see how efficient and clean their underground system is. Even the Metro in Newcastle is organised compared to the Tube! But for some reason I am still fond of the London Underground network, even though its an old dinosaur.

i was sharing a beer and a plate of pommes frites at rudi's at the top of the markbachjoch last season with dave mac and we were both wondering where you were. we even went looking for paralytic ski crazy. she was on that mountain somewhere! L.
