Insurance question - Cancellation clause

Hello,
I'm thinking of booking my trip to Lech for February 2010.
I feel a bit apprehensive booking this well in advance but want to make sure I get a good deal.
My question is: Are there any Insurance companies out there that would include a Cancellation clause?
I would want to be able to cancel for whatever reason I fancy.
Thanks a lot.
Beatriz

what i mean is that i want to cancel due to work or other unforeseen circumstances.
usually you find you can cancel if there's a death in the family or something tragic like that.
but i'm glad i gave brucie the chance to insult my sanity.

beapearson, it's not too long until Feb, and it's peak season, so don't delay too long, unless....you wait for a late booking bargain, once you know what your plans will be.

Alternatively, talk to an Insurance Broker if you want to hedge against unforseen circs.

Re:Insurance question - Cancellation clause

So you want to book a skiing holiday, right?
But you want to have the right to be able to pull out at any time without any financial penalty, am I reading this right so far?

Why should you be the only person in the world who can have that option, or have I been missing a trick all my life?

I think there may be policies that will cover you for unforseen circumstances. I used to have a policy when I was in the Royal Navy that used to protect my personal travel arrangements if there should be a change to our operational programme.
I suppose the only way to find out is to talk to a specialist travel insurance broker.

I should think you'd only lose the deposit, if you cancelled before the deadline for paying the balance (a month before the holiday?). And you might not even lose the deposit if they manage to sell the holiday to someone else.

Ally
