A ski jacket for £32?

Primark are doing ski jackets for just GBP32! Looked pretty good to me, comparible with something 3 times the price. Ideal for the first timer.

If its like most of their other stuff it will change shape when you wash it and come in a funny size.
Better of buying a Trespass jacket for that price in TK tbh.

No, there is a reason why ski jackets are expensive they are made to keep you warm. a GBP35 ski jacket wont have all the layers of material in them that keeps you warm. The last thing you want to do is buy a cheep jacket and be cold all week.

TK for the win you can get really expenceive jackets for the price of cheep ones.

Usually you get what you pay for. A bin liner and some cotton wool would be cheaper )

I've bought quite a few clothes from Primark, and they're usually pretty good, although I haven't bought any ski clothes there.

I started the thread because I was suprised by the good quality as much as the price, reasonable outer material with waterproofed pockets and Thinsulate insulation. Recco reflector too.
Easily comparible with anything at a similar price in TK.

2 years ago I went to skiing and had no gear.
I bought a jacket for GBP30 from Blacks and it was superbly warm and did the job perfectly.
You can buy good quality gear very cheap if you are prepared to look around.

Nothing wrong with Olly's jacket, though I did warn him he looked a bit like Bertie Bassett when he bought it! He usually only wears really drab looking clothes in his normal life, bless him!

Not a chance Bandit, my pants need to fit and I dont do cotton t-shirts that appear fitted for Kobe Bryant.

The only bit of kit I want is some red framed googles.

i got the ski trousers from Primark/Pennys. Its really warm and quite flexible so i think it was deadly for 30 euro which would be around 25 pounds or less even, im not sure how much it cost. the jackets are 40 euro and they are also very good

I am accepted by no-one in resort, the riders think I'm square and the skiers dismiss me as a rider. Its a tough life.

Alpe d'Huez 9th to 16th Jan, or Serre Chevalier 6th to 13th March if you fancy a spring trip. Cheap accommodation there, and a good rail connection.

March sounds like a maybe, need to check the Snowbombing dates in Mayrhofen though.....April 5th, thats grand, looks like I have sorted out those 2 months :) Still trageting 60 days this season (October - September) if possible which means a lot of overnighters for weekends and stuff and limited skiing locally in the Black Forest. Done 7 so far with 2 weekends in October in Zermatt and 3 days in November on the Tux.
