Looking for a snow activity site

I am looking for a place to go with my 14 year old son for 4-5 days (Dec. 13-17th) that has a variety of snow activities - could be snowmobile, snowshoe hikes, sleigh rides, basic skiing (we have not been skiing yet ever), or other activities.

Can you suggest such a place? Could be in Bulgaria - if not somewhere else. I heard Bulgaria is affordable relatively. Thank you.

Hi Elias welcome to the mad house. For those sort of activities I would suggest some-where in Lapland. The slopes are gentle.........well most of them, snowmobiling, snowshoe walking, huskies, reindeer sleighs, ice carting and loads and loads of snow. But be prepared quite pricey. But far better than Bulgaria IMHO.

Re:Looking for a snow activity site

I agree with Tino, I think the best place would be Adelboden. I work there during the summer time and durring the winter time its mad, theres so much to do in the area. And its great place and very beautiful

Re:Looking for a snow activity site

Cheers Theo, only done Grindelwald myself but I reckon if you are taking the time to spend some time with your son, you can not go far wrong. Ski all day if you like using only a train to get up and down. Europes longest sledging run @12 km which is floodlit at times. Great scenary, stunning history, ice skating etc. Picture postcard, no cars, horsedrawn carts. Great, smashing, super, lovely.

Also relatively inexpensive for Switzerland.

Re:Looking for a snow activity site

Thanks for all your responses. So I guess their's no place in Eastern Europe that has a variety of snow activities. We probably can't make it to Laplands - it's a long way from Israel. As far as I could see in Adelboden and Jungfrau region websites the activities besides skiing is Husky racing and mountain paragliding.

If anyone has other activities on websites or other recommendations I'd be happy to see them. Thanks.

Re:Looking for a snow activity site

Hi Elias,

In Bansko you can go paragliding from the top of the mountain, skimobiling, snow-shoeing, ice-skating, ice-fishing, sledging, quad-biking and horse riding through the snow and of course skiing or snowboarding.

http://www.banskoadventures.com/ has quite a lot of info about activities. I hope that helps!
