360 Ski/Snowboard School, Samoens

Hello,

This year we really weren't going...but we just can't face a winter without - you'll understand.

So, we found an apartment in Samoens and my daughter is taking a friend and they are going to learn to snowboard.

I've been looking at lessons and have found the above ski/snowboard school. I was wondering if anyone has any experience of them?

It's them, ESF or zigzag (who look excellent, but may be a bit expensive)

Anyone else's experiences greatly received.

Dids
Sorry, no experience of ski schools in Samoens but I would suggest perhaps a couple of lessons indoors over here before you go.

I've done the introductory lessons (enough to allow you to go on the main slope) with Xscape in Castleford and found them pretty good. Snowboarding has such a steep learning curve for the first few days/weeks even introducing you to a frontside/backside turn will help hugely when you get to the slopes.

Snowboarding will never be for me but it is a fun distraction if you want a bruised bum! The problem is that my skiing experience far outweighs my boarding and I just can't be bothered to put the time in to get better!

My god son used the Morillon branch of the ESF and they were great, Little W was in the ESF snow garden where she learnt the basics, the ESF were very good with the young kids, I think my one was three 8)

We will take them for some dry slope lessons before we go.

I've called Pontypool ski centre today and they have a snowboard club twice a week where tuition is given and costs GBP7.35 for an hour.

Hopefully we will have an idea if snowboarding really is for them.

Any got any experience of Pontypool ski centre?

I used to go there many years ago. always memorable because I broke a thumb on the Dendix

Short steepish slope, with a button tow IIRC.

I had snowboard lessons in Scotland and at Tamworth Snowdome. I don't think I would have progressed too far, if I'd been falling on Dendix as it's pretty unforgiving. Ask the centre which surface they now use.
