ski train

:(does anyone know how or where I can offload 4 x rail tickets ashford/moutier which we have purchased for 1/2 term 2010 and now find we cannot use - long story ! Eurostar will not give us a refund and so we are stuck with tickets that will not be used and cost us more than a grand !

Re:ski train

Provided they are transferrable (at a fee I guess?) then stick them on eBay nearer the time... the half-term snow trains sell out fast so you'll likely get a good price for them.

HTH,

Re:ski train

that's the rub, ebay do not allow you to sell rail tickets on their site. The tickets are not transferrable but do not show any names or id on them. If you call Eurostar they will say the train is booked but I know they are going to have 4 empty seats !
I thought of putting an ad on the ski club website but just wondered if anyone knows of any other similar sites that might work.

Re:ski train

I purchased with a credit card so that is a possibility i guess but not sure the true reason for the problem will wash with them - to cut a long story short we have a large party going at half term and one family purchased tickets in error for us as well as themselves - crazy but it happened! I have eurostar tickets which are printed with our names on so we will use them. The additional tickets were purchased thru Rail Europe. They are Eurostar tickets on the same train but believe it or not they do not have any names on them so in my book they could be used by someone else.

Re:ski train

we placed an ad on ebay and almost immediately received a message saying they were pulling the ad - the reason given was:
Under the Railways Act 2005, the sale of train tickets (including vouchers, tokens, and Eurostar tickets) by unauthorised persons is not permitted in the UK ?
Looking at this now, maybe I should try again but this time avoid the use of words like Eurostar, Ski Train etc - will be a bland ad, but hey (!) I need to sell them
