Wobbly Pound???

What's happening to the ol' pound, folks?

I see an exchange rate at 1 GBP = 1.10 EUR on my screen at the moment... that rate is going to hurt a lot come ski time in Euroland.

:(I have a bad feeling....

If the Irish are conned(Bullied) into a yes vote on the EU CONstitution (Lisbon Treaty or whatever they've now trid to call it to con us) and with the Governments traitorous handling of the tax payers money and public finances.....we will all be using Euros by the end of the year or early next :thumbdown:

It would'nt supprise me if the Royal Mint was already churning them out in readiness :thumbdown:

And what with them going to try and kill off people with a dodgy swine flu vaccine (why does if contain the A/Vietnam Avian H5N1 virus strain, Thermiserol (mercury) and Squelene (has been proven to be the cause of Iraq War Syndrome) if reports are believed? :thumbdown:

Sory forgot where is was for a minute and had my political head on.....think nice thoughts...think skiing :D

Don't worry guys uncle wickers is here....... its not ski time just yet, there is plenty of time for a recovery :D :D :D :D

The Pound is still doing well against the Dollar, $1.62. Not as good as last season, when it was nearly $2.00. That, and the deals on hotels and car rental that are common in this recession, may make US resorts a viable ski trip from the UK this winter.

I'm just waiting for it to work the other way. Not holding my breath though :roll:

Gosh I feel so much calmer now Wickers is on the case :lol:

Trencher, some J2skiers just don't want or need to go skiing in the US, our focus is firmly on the Eurourozone )

Which way works best for you Trencher? Does it matter for you?

As far as the Euro rate goes, skiers will just go skiing. They may cut back in the summer, but the winter, well.....

Trencher, I'm in the Twin Cities my Euro is getting me enough Dollars to upgrade from Bombay to Hendricks gin this evening ;)

I wanna go #%?!•¥ snowboarding. The rest of everything us particulary crap right now.

Ugh :( Markets have opened and sterling now buys only 1 euro 10c and 1 Sfr 67c. we need it to go higher, or we are all taking sandwiches, everywhere :twisted:

That seems quite good now, E1 Bandito, Post office rate ~~1.0561 Euro/GBP, and 1.5886 SwF.

I refer to my last assessment of this, when the issue was raised earlier this year. I see nothing to stop the GBP falling towards 80 cents, ~ and that was prior to the Bank of England printing free money every month.

Really? It's got to have something to do with the US economy, apparently one of the big to do's at the G 20 summit was to start coming up with a "level" international currency.

Really? It's got to have something to do with the US economy, apparently one of the big to do's at the G 20 summit was to start coming up with a "level" international currency.

I think the plans they have for the worlds currencies are....the US Dollar, Canadian Dollar and Mexican Peso will all be merged into the "Ameuro" ( I think the spelling is correct), the countries of europe ( including the UK) will be saddlled with the Euro, and the asian continets will all have a similar joined currency.

And then after time those currencies will all again merge until all countries are using one currency only....with one World Bank. ( is it a coincidence that the Rothschilds and Rockrfellers all have substantial stakes in the Bank of England and the US Treasury etc?...from what i hear).

That's going to be one ugly looking bill :(. So that's going to be Ben Franklin wearing a sombrero with a hockey stick? No **** Really the Rockefellers have stock in the Bank of England? On second thought it doesn't surprise me. The Rockefellers have little "treasure dumps" all over the place.

It'd just be nice to find a job where I can get some of those Amero-peso's :lol:

From what iv'e read the Bank of England is a privately owned bank ,that is owned by a few mega wealthy families and it goes back hundreds of years to when one of our kings needed money to raise an army and needed cash to do it.So these mega wealthy families set up the Bank and the monarchy and government have been paying them back all these years.Also the USA and the US Treasury are still paying the British for debts incured before ,during and after the civil war......nice work if you can get it.

The only good thing about the wobbly pound, is that we get paid our annual farm subsidy in euros, which is then converted into pounds. The e-mail I've just been sent says:

30th September 2007 1 euro = GBP0.69680
30th September 2008 1 euro = GBP0.79030
30th September 2009 1 euro = GBP0.90930

But as for ski-ing, I'm thinking of paying for everything now, in advance, in case it gets worse.
