Re:Morillon 1100

I know someone who does, know, but he's taken to lurking on here, and would have seen your post by now. I have been to Morrillon village, so passed though the 1100 village every day. It looked pretty quiet to me, with great access to the skiing. You will need a car, and be prepared to use it most days I reckon, if you want entertainment.

I went there a few years ago we had fantastic snow conditions, we stayed down in the valley, as the resort is low snow conditions can be poor on the valley run, as for 1100 the normal restaurants and bars, not a fantastic amount of apres, I would say it is a DIY type of apres ski resort. Lift connections are very good to the rest of the area, we did not get as far Flaine as the kids were still very young and our ski time was limited. But I really liked the resort but what I would say if you are a group looking for apres ski try Samoens down the valley a bigger resort with a greater choice of bars.

The main gondola is five minutes from town, just a point of interest the bar/restaurant at the bottom of the gondola was up for sale last year a little overpriced at about 800k....GBP

As I said previously its a short drive outside the village, I would not think it would be too inconvenient, it is also a very nice village with plenty of history 8) 8)

Re:Morillon 1100

Samoens used to be a PITA for access..then it got a new bubble, as Wickers says just outside the village :D
Beautiful village, very attractive centre, quite traditional rural French 8)

Re:Morillon 1100

I was there in Jan ..nice little place .There is a free bus that goes round the village which takes you to the gondola and then there are (or were .I believe they have improved them) 2 chairs up to the top ..not inconvenient at all and ther are nice runs down to the top of the gondola and a nice black back down to the bottom. It all connects up very nicely. The only thing I can say is the little shops in the village are expensive so a car is desirable to get to the hypermarkets,,I enjoyed it there

Re:Morillon 1100

just a note ...book your ski hire before you go as they do charge much more (from the same supplier) in the resort
