Getting rid of old ski wear

What on earth does everybody do with ski wear that the kids grow out of after one season's wear? It is not worth putting it on ebay as I bought it pretty cheeply. I physically could not give it to a jumble sale and I am unsure whether the Charity shop is ideal either. I really would rather just give it to someone who would hopefully enjoy skiing as much as I do. Any ideas as my cupboards are getting a bit full now! Thanks!

Re:Getting rid of old ski wear

Offer them up on well known snow sports websites and send them off to people that want them? There will always be someone wanting to pick up your old stuff.

Re:Getting rid of old ski wear

Some kind of 'swap shop' on here for people to exchange outgrown kids stuff, with people saying what they have available and what they would require - at least for those that don't want to shell out on new stuff every year!

Re:Getting rid of old ski wear

Jenno, probably not enough people to make it worth it but go for it, another well known snow sports website will probably have more forum traffic and it could maybe work but then you would have to venture over....

Re:Getting rid of old ski wear

Up North (but I am sure it is nationwide) there is a website called freecycle. You register with your local one and you can advertise stuff that you no longer want and people will come and take it away from your home for free. YOu can advertise anything you want including stuff that no longer works. Or say if you are getting rid of a fridge freezer that still works but you are replacing it with a new one or getting a new kitchen fitted, you could advertise it and people who need one will come and get it. The same as if you need things. People have asked even for things including a car! and I have seen at least one car given away!

here is the link

http://uk.freecycle.org/

Re:Getting rid of old ski wear

Thanks for all your ideas! I actually live in Newcastle upon Tyne so freecycle seems a great idea. I have salopettes which have only been worn for 7 days and are in perfect condition. I know I would have been over the moon if someone had offered me ski stuff. Instead I had to kit 5 people out when we first started skiing and those pesky kids keep growing!!
