Help required from experienced skiers.

Anyone got any advice about how to control the excitement experienced a few days before a skiing holiday. I don't seem to be able to concentrate on work things and need to check the weather every five minutes. I keep checking that my skis are still under the bed and trying my boots on to make sure they still fit.

I think I'm obsessed and wondered if anyone else is feeling the same at the moment. (Obviously I know Mr W isn't!) Can anyone tell me what they do to control this obsession/excitement.

well at the moment i am also suffering from compulsive obbsessive pre ski holiday jitters, Webcam on PC is refreshed every 5 secs for slughtest flicker of snow, watch is checked everyone that passes, re packed last night and butterflies in tummy, got map etc today, if you get to watford before me wait before booking in or we wont be sat together they have given me a different booking reference, banana's

Firstly I would like to point out that you have a responsibility to the children that you teach to be totally professional and educate the little darlings, Secondly drown yourself in a nice bottle or two of red the holiday will then be forgotten as you will be completely taken over by the extensive hangover, thirdly continue first and second part until Friday......problem solved :hunf:

Firstly, I have a non teaching role and secondly I don't drink red wine. But some good advice there Mr W I shall crack open a bottle of Vodka immediately! :lol:

These symptoms are perfectly normal, I suspect we are all like that. God I am even getting giddy over my summer holiday and thats not until June. I have even been internet shopping for sun hats, sandals etc to-day.

I was being very patient, but now I want to get there while there's lots of snow because someone (I can't remember who) said it was going to be sunny and green!

every week the kids try and get me on to the dry slope at sheffield but every week i refuse just in case i hurt something, and bless one of the lads tonight broke his finger, was at a very strange angle to the rest of his fingers, Morag who took him to A&E just phoned and he has broke his knuckle bone at the bottom of his ring finger in half, eeewwww, bless him

I don't want to put a dampener on Val Cenis but it's raining today and tomorrow then raining again Monday-Tuesday with heavy rain in the Pm, lets hope it's wrong, but light snow next wednesday :thumbup:

1. Waiting for new power pack to arrive.
2. Not sure I want to worry about it getting stolen.

Snowbandit - To get back to the original subject - The way I avoid these holiday palpitations is to get away for at least 5 weeks a season. You will soon, like me, become bored with packing, unpacking, packing, checking snow reports, checking webcams etc.
By the fourth week it just becomes a chore. Try it next season!!!!!!!!!

I love how folks pay for the 9 day forecast when if you look about you can get it for nothing. Or if you learn to look at a wee GFS thingy then you can make a better picture of it for yourself.

I know it's sad but you get to look at historical snow reports and get good discounts in lot's of places (definitely got my subscription fees back in discounts this year).

J2ski is actually a much better site for anything else.

lol sorry, just thought about it as i was at sheffield dry slope earlier this evening which he frequents but at different times to me wonder why? anyway just thought he hasnt been on here for a while and wondered if he was okay
