Wonderful news from Niederau

I heard from Ellistine this afternoon. After the airline losing his ski's, and it raining when he arrived in resort, he spent this morning skiing, his other half did some paragliding, and then......

.....they got married!!!

Absolutely fantastic news. I am absolutely delighted for my friends, they are a great couple. Mrs Ellistine is perhaps the most mental person you could ever meet!
This is great news.
Not sure exactly where they got married, waiting for more details from them.

Thought I would share it with you.

Just brilliant. Although I don't think J2Ski had anything to do with it; I believe Mr Ellistine had snared the prospective Mrs E some time ago.

Oh wait a minute, I do have a form here that got rejected by The Snow God; afraid the "bucket of snow" was out of stock at the time of ordering... 8)

It was extraordinarily nice to meet with Mr and Mrs Ellestine in Niederau tonight. I wished them well, and Ellestine gave thanks for the post. It is most unfortunate that this is my last night in Niederau for this winter, so will not have the oppotunity to ski will Mr and Mrs E.

Eff only ah had kennnt aboot the weddin, ah wid had brocht ma kilt, ye ken.

Strongest wishes for the future.

Blimey!

Thankyou all for your very kind messages. We just got back an hour or so ago after a great week in Austria.

We stayed with Jan and his family at The Auhof in Neiderau and without who's help we would never have been able to get married in the way we wished.

The wedding was a complete surprise to everybody here in the UK, including family :shock: and despite the quite large amount of paper work involved, we managed to pull it off and had a great day.

The only problem the whole week was our skis not turning up at the airport. However it turned out they never left Bristol and on our return they were there waiting for us. A new problem is the replacement skis we hired were quite nice so I reckon some new ones could be on the radar!

Despite looking out all week for Dave 'the hat' Mac we only managed to catch up with him briefly on his last night which was a shame. Maybe next time )

However, it appears some so called 'friends' have aquired access to our house while we were away and have decorated the place with bunting, confetti and balloons! All the cupboards have been booby trapped and there's tiny bits of paper from the notching machine at work all over the place. Blighters :D

Lovely idea, but did the wedding bit not encroach on the skiing/drinking time?? )

Yes, it was all planned in advance. I think the days of spur of the moment weddings are long gone. We started to get the paperwork together in November. Lots of translation and legalisation required before simply saying 'yes' on the day.
