I have been a few times. The slope furniture gets moved around periodically, but there are usually some small jumps left in place. The Rails seem to get put away to make space for regular slope users. I'm pretty sure that helmet use is mandatory on moguls and rails, but IIRC you can rent a helmet if you're not a user (not sure if I'd want to though). I think there is a Facebook Group for Park riders at MK.

I went with the kids last half term. Horrible. It's a long way further (from me) but the one in Manchester was immeasurably better.

Re:SnoZone Milton Keynes

Hi,
I have been to the one in Milton Keynes for a morning's ski practice. I hadn't been to a snow dome before, only a dry ski slope, and I was impressed with the quality of the snow. It feels like real snow - much better than the dry ski slope.

I found the place was very like a huge shopping mall (which is next door) and rather confusing at first, but the lifts seemed to work O.K. and my skis were fine. I didn't see any moguls, or rails, or anything like that, but maybe it's like the one in Manchester and they put them out sometimes and then take them away again. Or, maybe they were there and I just didn't notice them!

It was very strange driving through Milton Keynes in the daytime, because there were hardly any other cars. I can see why they call it a dormitory town.

I am going to Manchester, to their snow dome, because it is supposed to be much better, and they teach special mogul clinics.

Ally

Re:SnoZone Milton Keynes

Sorry re my generalist disenchantment, not much help. I did see rails and I've seen pics of jumps in the venue.
My main beef with it was the quality of the slope itself - one enormous patch of hard ice, and it really was ice - translucent - and the 'snow' was semoule, I gave up before I broke something...

Re:SnoZone Milton Keynes

Hi we live in MK so have been to the Snowdome quite a few times. They have ramps/rails and stuff on certain nights of the week so check their web site. They seem to have more in the summer time - maybe when there are less skiiers/boarders. Have seen a great student competition there too with impressive stuff going on. They also have late nights now and then on a Friday with DJ's which sound good if you like that sort of thing.

For your regular skiing though it is good to take the children there for a few lessons before setting off on a ski holiday. I have been a couple of times before setting off on holiday too to get the legs moving again. Though it is really annoying that you ski down in 1 minute then take what feels like 5 minutes to get back to the top again.

As for traffic in MK it is a great place to live. National speed limit almost everywhere - dual carridge ways on most roads - and no speed cameras. Everywhere is only 5 minutes away which compared to Brixton where we used to live - is very quick.

Forgot to add - if there are bad snow and ice conditions at the Snowdome - go and complain at the front desk where they almost always and quite easily give you vouchers for another session for free.

Dont take your own skis. The chemicals in the fake snow dries them out badly.
