How do airlines make money?

Well, this is nothing really to do with skiing but I suppose could be applicable to skiing holidays:-

Cost of Honeymoon to Cuba for 2:GBP1700

2 x Upgrade too Premier Cabin GBP400

2 x Seat Reservation GBP50

2 x priority Booking GBP50

Total of add ons = GBP500

That is almost a third of the price of the main holiday again. They say there is no profit in holidays....no, it is in the bl00dy extras :evil:

So don't pay it, then they would not charge the add ons.. it's really simple they are there to make money and they do :evil:

I've just booked return flights to the UK for 70.- chf and I flew from Marrakech to Geneva for 80.- Euro the other day, all seems pretty cheap to me.

Hi :D

I have been looking at flights for my end of year skiing trip and Easyjet are doing flights from Luton to Geneva for around GBP4.50 each way.....mind you the airport taxes on top are GBP17.00 each way ,but then again a return flight to europe for less than GBP50 ain't bad :D :D :D

Also with car hire for a week less than GBP130 , its cheap however you look at it , always look around for the best deals...

You didnt have to pay the extras, or go to Cuba, or get married, but you chose to. It better be a fantastic trip at that price!

How many people on this forum moan/comment on the price of beer, etc etc. Dont buy it. Simple.

I was only making a lighhearted point. Obviously you are all experts and can only be as lighthearted as a slap in the face with a hammer.

I am off to go and have aa serious conversation with someone. Next time anyone on here complains/comments on price I will use Ian's oh so lighthearted comment

Back to the origional point, I just booked my flights for Chile yesterday.

Frankfurt to Santiago in July, return with LAN Chile in business class for Euro54.26

......and the small sum of 140,000 air miles, but hey you can get some value out of them if you try.

Heading for Portillo which just looks awesome!!!
