Resort Recommendations?

Hey guys,

Picked an inexpesive flight to Grenoble, France, mid March. Can anyone recommend a nearby resort? I have skiied before and usually do intermediate runs. Girlfriend has never skied before. Not too fussed Re lots of apres ski - sauna / jacuzzi and bar will suffice! Will be looking for accom. as well. Suggestions RE resort and hotel accom. welcomed. Prefer an unspolit village if possible. Was in Tignes once and didn't enjoy the town too much (though skiing was great).

Cheers

Rick

Alpe d'huez would probably meet your requirements quite well. Its fairly close to Grenoble, has lots of really nice skiing for beginners, good selection for intermediates and a lovely big open air swimming pool that is included in the lift pass (though you will need Speedo type swimming trunks  - its a French requirement). While the resort is quite large and there are a good few large, relatively ugly apartment blocks, it still manages to retain a reasonable atmosphere. I have always used Crystal clubhotels when there so can't really help with accommodation but resort website will have links that you can check out. It can also be worth checking with Tour Operators as they might have spaces that they would be happy to unload cheaply on an accommodation only basis.

Best of luck and enjoy your trip.
