I've never given anything up for Lent before. Anyone else? Apparently you can indulge every Sunday until Easter.

Makes teh soul feel better!! I get married in 3 months so badly need to get rid of my 'rotund figure' so my wife to be wont be shocked :shock:

I am goin to give up the 3 yorkies a day I have :cry:

Need a replacement....any suggestions? :roll:

All depends how weird you are really if your insane like myself for example :twisted: you get three stars, if you're extremely odd you get five stars, as least I think thats how it works :mrgreen:

I don't think it really gets used that much you will get the odd Kn*b who will mark you down, but lets be honest does it really matter, I think not :wink:

The only thing I know about Lent is that peolpe give up something during hte period.. Pablo+Religion don't really happen.

You can rate someones post if you don't like it/like it or generally have an opinion of it. You can do it by clicking the 'rate' box to the right of someones post!

I think I'm religous...I regularly use the phrases 'For god's sake' and 'Jesus Christ...' I might try to give up using them for lent! :lol:

I love the sensation of speed and I give myself every holiday a couple runs for just me and I hammer it down, I'll give you an example of speed my sister in law froze on a run and it held us up and we had three kids to pick up from ski school so I went for it one end of Le Grand bornand to the other, I was lucky with lifts, I ended up one minute late for the pick up but I was really quick so quick you might have experienced it where you know you are on the edge one mistake and your gone. The sensation is fantastic adrenalin running at full flow reading the piste a hundred meters ahead but
what kicks in is a little bit of sensibility and I just eased off, I have to go to work and at my age a bad fall could break my Zimmer frame, but hey it was great fun :wink: :wink: :wink:

I'm not at all religious and have no idea why I started this thread. I thought about giving up chocolate but had forgotten by lunch time :roll:

I was brought up in the church, believe it or not, so when people talk about Lent and other such things, I tend to switch off totally.
I gave up smoking on Boxing Day 6 years ago, but that was because I didnt want to die.

I'm a good little convent girl you know :D
my son's primary is a catholic school so we do give up for lent. In my case - bread, in Eddie's case - crisps, in Harry's case - nothing as he's moved on from the primary school and has requested not to bother!

I thought of giving up work for Lent. (I work in a catholic girls' boarding school. They do lots of strange things for lent)
