Easter Holidays? Holiday booking?

Don't ask for a lot of advice on here so bare with..

Had enough of Scotland so was looking at a post easter get-away!

Just checked out flights in April (5th->12th), Edinburgh to Chambery return=GBP370. No chance.. what gives?

10th-17th is GBP250.. hmmm

Any ideas? Will TO be cheap at that time?

pablo is that the only time you can get away? crystal had some cheap deals to mayrhofen? or soe other cheapish ones dont know what your budget is, one mans cheap is another mans gold

What dates are easter? This has probably been discussed but I have clearly missed it... is the 10th still easter?

I just need to get away somewhere cool from the 10th of April.

No real budget, prefer half board (chalet accomo) and probably Switzerland I am thinking now.. TBC

Just looked at Newcastle and it's GBP300+. If that's your only weeks then you've not really got any choice but to look for a last minute TO deal - but keep checking to see how much availability there is from local airports!

You can also look at avoiding Saturdays (much cheaper to fly midweek if they do them)but the flights are winding down so may not be available. Worth looking at though as a lot of apartments are more flexible on dates after the Feb and early March peak.

I am still thinking about it, I would imagine it will be the least busy of the two weeks. Most people will be thinking that it is too late to ski... or something!

I would love to go back to Finland at Easter, they ski until June, but TO's seem to end packages end of March. Not to sure about DIY hols, prefer TO backing.

Might go after my exams for a week of sunshine/skiing/general enjoyment.. May time. There is some food for thought.. will limit my choice somewhat though.

I'm no expert on this but I gather the resorts are fairly quiet by Easter. The problem is that the TO's are already looking to the summer hols so choice is limited.

People also seem to stick to the higher altitudes where the prices seem to hold up as there is less choice.

But I'm sure someone somewhere will have hols to sell and offer a discount as the time approaches.

Cant really afford another holiday having paid for two and could only use one, son got the benefit of that one. We have planned quite a few garden and home projects for the rest of the year. Refit the utility room, either a hot tub or a sauna, we cant make our mind up yet. And as we did up my den last year its hubbys turn to have his den done up. Trouble is his involves TV and lots of electrical gadgets.......now if only I can persuade him not to have it done we could have another holiday. I so need one :lol:

Too late he already knows this web site. He bought a PS3 this weekend because our DVD player broke down and PS3 has blue ray DVD, great quality films now.

Why Chambery? Why not start getting flights and take it from there? I thought you were flexible on dates as a student?
