Booking lift passes, lessons etc online

We are off to Bansko at feb half term, would it pay us to book lift passes, lessons, boards etc before we go or wait until we get there?

Never been to Bansko, but I have experienced all of those items being cheaper when you book them on-line and also saves a lot of time in the ski shop/lift pass office.

I know in Portes de Soliel they will actually post you your lift pass before you go making it really quick - also cheaper.

I think pre-booked skis are predominantly cheaper when booked on-line beforehand

If you have booked wit a TO it is usually cheaper to book through them. :D

That varies, depending on the rate at which the TO agreed with the lift company. On most occasions, I have experienced a lower in resort cost, but not always.

It partly depends on the currency exchange rate - i.e. the rate the T.O. used to work out their prices, and the rate at the time you buy the lift pass in resort.

I am currently watching the Euro rate to work out the best time to pay the balance on our apartment, our ski lessons, and our lift passes. It can easily move by 10%.

Heres a good example. Tour op price for Serre Che lift pass in advance: GBP184
Lift price in resort 193,50 euros, which at todays rate is roughly GBP173.

Here's another example:

Bansko 6 day lift pass (independent) = GBP128

Bansko 6 day lift pass (through Crystal TO) = GBP94

Bansko Package (through Crystal TO) = GBP119 This inlcudes skis/boots/poles, lift pass and lessons for 6 days.

(This is snowb4ndit on Scapulas computer) :lol:

Snowbandit - any idea what your lift pass for ADH is going to cost, and whether you can get them cheaper online or in advance?

It's a learn to ski package, but I did it once before even though I had my own equipment and went into a higher level group.

I get the impression that the OP is not an expert skier. :wink:

I just checked this out this against Skiset for ski hire in St Anton, and Skiset were 7% lower on cost.
