Good prices but check the small print (scroll down their offers page) for the mandatory supplements...

A GBP16.50 per person currency supplement applies to reduced price holidays in addition to a GBP1 per person Air Passenger levy.

Room supps, flight supps, child care etc and terms & conditions are as per current 2nd edition Esprit Ski brochure.

Bookings made within 18 days of departure are subject to a GBP20 per person "Late Booking Administration Fee"

So that's GBP17.50x4 + GBP20x4 or GBP150 for the family of 4, without adding childcare...

I would have thought that adding at least three mandatory supplements for every person would fall foul of advertising standards, no?

Re:Looking for a late deal?

There certainly seem to be some very good deals about at the moment.

Annoyingly, I've probably lost out on the holiday I priced to Valmenier, as my husband's, boss' wife is due to give birth any time from now and until she does, my OH can not get the holidays signed off (even though we were planning to go at the end of March!

Still, hopefully we'll be able to get something last minute.

Given the current state of things, any company that manages to stay in business needs all the support they can get. Yes, it would be better if everyone offered flights from all over the country, but c'est la vie...

Re:Looking for a late deal?

Skiworld holidays that include flights are all from Gatwick. Thats probably because Gatwick is the largest charter airport in the UK, and where most tour ops flights operate from before they spread out to other airports. I'd prefer Stansted or east Mids personally, but if they only do gatwick, I can travel there. I often fly from Manchester as well as its the same distance as Gatwick from me.

As for driving, I'd love to be able to get in the car, but its far more expensive. take into account that those prices on Skiworlds site are for a weeks catered accommodation, flights and transfers. Why would anyone in their right mind suggest driving instead?????

But there's plenty of people who can't get to Gatwick who would love that kind of holiday - for a lot of people it's not worth the time and expense of getting to London. They've bought more accommodation than they've got interest from London. It's not like they run the flights either - they are just buying flights from airlines. So why not open it up to other areas - a little bit of planning in organising airport transfers would open up whole new markets. It's laziness really.

Plus those packages are only so cheap because there isn't the interest at full price. Taking a car can be done cheaply, gives you flexibility and allows you to take as much stuff as you like. And no worrying about snow scuppering your return trip to the airport.

Lynn - it's not just support they need it's to work for their money. Someone will be getting my money again this year but not someone with such little choice in point of departure.
