Draglifts...what a bummer

Guys and girls,
I'm trying to set up some kinda snowboarding deal for a few peeps on 28th Feb and I'm nearly there, but, One of the girls (and the guy with the dodgey knee)refuses point blank to do the DRAGLIFTS, now we all know, Skiers and Boarders alike that drags are a bummer at the best of times and so far my findings have now cut out ALL of the "Milky Way" as 56% are drags, and i rekon that the "Dolomites" and the "Sellar Ronda" are similar, SO.....does anybody have any ideas as to where in Western Europe I can find some inexspensive resort without draglifts.
HELP...Please

Thanx Tommie :(

Re:Draglifts...what a bummer

I hardly touched a drag in the Milky Way in either Sauze or Sestriere, it was chairs all the way.
Personally, I dont have a problem with drag lifts anyway but I know you boarders arent keen.

Re:Draglifts...what a bummer

Don't focus on trying to find resorts that have no draglifts - as Tony said, it is possible to ski throughout most resorts without ever having to use them (you might occasionally have to skip a run here or there but that would normally be the extent of it). Just make sure that there are sufficient chairs/gondolas to get you around.

Also remember, that while drags are liked by very few, they can be your friend . I have often bypassed 40 minute queues by taking a nearby drag to get up the mountain straightaway - well worth the hassle in my view. Secondly, the drags can really come into their own in bad weather. A few years ago, I had an amazing days skiing in terrible weather. None of the chairs or gondolas were running because of the high winds but the drags continued to operate. The slopes were empty, the pistes were covered in fresh powder and it was wonderful . It couldn't have happened if the drags had not been there.

co-signing wanderers post.

drags can be a pain (in the legs) but definately have an upside

one i find being you can get off anywhere! i noticed in latania a drag lift that runs later than the gondola so wen I needed to get back i dragged up and slipped off when i was high enough up to ski back to the chalet, score!

Button bars should be fine for skiiers assuming the route up is smoothish. If not then they're not relaxed enough imo. People who get burning thighs on a button bar: Relax a bit and stand up right then you won't need to be all tense and grip the bar in a death grip.

Re:Draglifts...what a bummer

Guys, Girls and RossF, thanx one and all for all your suggestions,It turns out that my co-booker has got his heart set on "Les Deux Alpes", 3* hotel and 19 drags and I wanted to give either "Folgarida" in the Dolomites, or "Formigal" in the Spanish pyrenees a twirl, smaller yet somethin a little different with just a few drags..Aah well...sais la vie``````````but great suggestions, i will be checkin a few of them out. personally i dont mind Buttons or T-bars, at least they get you up that steep incline and makes it the closest i'm gonna get to being "James Bond" for a while, as I scale the top of the peak, wearing totally black, head to toe, Oakley snow kit (oh no...I'm thinkin about the "Milk tray" man, oh well, I'll settle on being "Mr Bean" and slide down the 1 in 3 incline on my arse, and arive in a tumultuous heap at the bottom in front of the adoreing queue,...YEAH..thats more like it

Thanx again
Tommie
