Just how strict are Easyjet on their 20kg allowance? And how much extra if its over?

Every item of standard checked ('hold') baggage will incur a fee. The applicable online fee will be displayed at the time of booking baggage (whether during or after booking your flight). Alternatively, you may choose to pay a higher charge at the airport. You will be advised of this charge at the airport. Payment of the fee provides you with an aggregate allowance of 20kg across all pieces of hold baggage which may only be increased by payment of excess weight charges.

The maximum acceptable weight for each single piece of checked-in hold baggage is 32kg. Baggage which exceeds this weight will not be accepted for carriage.

Where checked-in hold baggage exceeds 20kgs in weight (subject to the above rule), each passenger will pay an excess baggage charge per kg up to a passenger maximum of 50kgs, as follows:

If you book sports equipment this ups your total to 32kg so you get an extra 12 kilos costing you only GBP16 each way if pre booked. This seems good value if the same 12 kilos of excess would cost GBP96 each way.

Cheers for that RossF, original flight was BA but they changed it. Hubby not packed yet so might be able to put some of my stuff in his.

Just suggest you have to much and guilt him into packing less, don't assume he will have space :twisted:

Easyjet will more than likely take every penny from you for every fraction of a kilo over.
If you were booked with BA originally, I would expect Easyjet to honour their allowances, which are 23kg per person, and no charge for skis but a limit of 32kg per bag max.
Have you looked into this?

Did look into this, no just 20KG, but both packed and just a fraction over on each, if I have to pay I have to pay, not unpacking any-more.

They'll let a kg or two go but that's about it. It's not really Easyjet but their agents on the day depending on the airport.

Hand luggage isn't weighed though so you stick the odd heavy thing in there.

Ise gave you the clue. Size of cabin baggage allowed is 550 x 400 x 200, but you will get away with slightly bigger. All your heavy gear, you know, hairdryer, ipod speakers, kettle, put-u-up bed, fridge, pet dog, just about everything can go in. There is a weight stipulation, but I seem to recall it is either "reasonable", or "20kgms", its on their website.

How on earth did you manage to get over 20kgm?
