Are we nearly there yet

Well guy's I have been listening to everybody exploits of skiing now my time is coming, just given the motor it's winter service, I been out in the garage and edged and waxed the skis, I'm starting to lay out my equipment ready for the wife to pack, another dump is due in LGb from next Sunday thro Thursday and I depart on the Friday, Guy's Nine days to go :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Yeh I have just looked at the forcast for LGB and i cannot wait I am off Friday late and hopefully will be skiing Sat pm, looks like several days of fall :lol:

I know the area is quite small , I have covered most of the face of the resort but fancy having a look further out towards Tete Annes have you experience they look like easy blues ( I have my 11 year old daughter with me)and do you know the easiest red down from Marloy? Anyone else have any advice its always welcome.

Terres rouge from the top of Marloly is fine a nice wide run, over the top from Maroly tete Annes has a steep section but the rest is ok, most of the kids I ski with have had four or five years experience and they cope ok.

Cool, what about on the face le maraloy goes up with two reds down which is easier I think they are tetras and les chardons blancs, just another option my daughters been skiing for a few years and reasonably confident , I think we went with an instructor a few years back and I cannot remember which run was the easier of the two

If your girls are pretty confident skiers they will have no problems, it's only really the top of Lachat which are real reds. Enjoy your hols :lol:

This morning I've starting packing the car, snow chains in, Blanket in,Tow rope in, Beam benders in not on, Triangle, spare bulbs, that lovely Fluorescent jacket in. I'm now charging up Video camera batteries x 3, Still camera batteries x 4, video tapes x 2.

What have I forgotten ?????????????? :D

And don't forget to pack the chargers once you're finished charging. Old batteries die soon after charging and they hate the cold.

My hubby has a habit of not being able to sleep due to excitement - 2 years ago we were flying out to Alpbach leaving at around 7am to get to the airport - he was awake at 1am, made a cup of tea and sat in bed watching TV all night. :roll:

Just back from 8 sunny days in Les Arcs. Group of 30, had a superb time.
Prices not as bad as in Tignes.
Snow was great dispite none falling so far this year.

What are the freezing levels like? It looked like there was a spike in the temps from the GFS coming in with the next front...

Concerned for Sainte Foy that it may get some rain lower down!

good question, it's the warmest it's been for about two months. Our snow level is around 1000m but it's not the cold, light powder we've been having so far. I'm nor we're expecting an immediate return to those cold temperatures.

I'm having a very nice time, but a little frustrated about not being able to upload my photos :roll:

Two more working days and four more sleeps, were nearly there now, snow has started to fall on LGb mixed in with a touch of rain, skis are waxed, edged and in there bags, were ready to rock and roll. :thumbup:

Pretty organized these days gears laid out in the spare bedroom ready to pack, Mrs W's job, I'll be packing the car Thursday to depart 03.00am Friday Morning, Oh bugger where's me passport :oops:

I'm having an OK time cause my leg muscle are playing up, I'm not very technically minded, been out on my new skis today, Plenty of powder, legs are not what they used to be, translation now breaking up no idea what "We were still in freshies at 3pm" is all about ????

Quite correct Tony :D Today was utterly amazing. Deep powder everywhere, and the bonus was that the snow had dried out overnight, so it was light and fluffy, and then the sun came out! OH still managed to hit a rock though :roll: Shop repair time I'm afraid...

Spent most of the day off piste in knee deep snow, with the occasional :shock: when falling into a waist deep hole.

Anyone heading out soon will have a great time :D

Not seen ise anywhere yet, but the folks we were with today, saw him yesterday in a restaurant :wink:

Well guys I am going to keep this thread going at least a day longer Till I go on my hols Yes as you have guessed only one day to go.
Last day of work completed today, the cat's gone on its hols early AAAAAhhhhh, Tomorrow clean the car, pack the car, put the box on, grab some ZZZZzzzzz's and depart for Folkestone at about 03.00 am friday morn. Overnight stop at Nuits st George for a glass or two, then on to LGb for lunch Eta midday.
Just to make you all green with envy 30 cm of powder fell yesterday with snow forcast on and off till Thursday, so
looks set for a bumper week of powder.
I'll bring you all back a stick of rock........ :wink:

Will be flying to Gatwick on Friday evening, Best Western booked, .. few beers in the hotel bar and off to Hinterglemm Saturday afternoon.
Fresh snow forecast for us too .. be nice to compare skiing on snow rather than ice.

Safe trip Ian. Drive carefully. No steel wheels or braking on motorways though.
