Dreaming!

Ok now completely, totally and utterly hypothetical situation now, BUT if you won the euromillions this friday, (which none of you will as i am! :lol:) What would you spend the season doing???

On a personal idea i alread have a holiday in Feb 1/2 term to Les Deux Alpes so think i would still go on that but spend the rest of the season in canada. Maybe only two or three resorts!
Think i'd still like to work towards CSIA badges etc as something to do!

So to you lot, what would you do??

I would fly in to Santa Fe tomorrow with 3 buddies and visit friends followed by buying something practical like a Range Rover (can't think of a better car to do it in?) and drive North starting with Taos, spend the winter following storms and finish up in Banff in May for the end of the season.

Head to Whistler and by somewhere nice for the summer, spend the next few months skiing Blackcomb glacier and riding the trails in and about the area (avoiding bears and such).

Rinse, repeat :wink:

Well, I would spend the weeks in my new chalet in a Swiss resort somewhere (and commute at the weekends (business class!) to watch my rugby team - such an easy life!)'

If I won I would not change a thing, I would still keep my job, house, still buy off ebay. Like heck, buy a place in Austria like a shot

My mum said she'd invest in a holiday home, when asked why she said incase things went "tits up" (not her phrase) She started telling me how interest rates had dropped too c.1.5%! When i let her know that 1.5% of GBP50,000,000 was GBP750,000 she realised that you might just scrap a living of that! :mrgreen:

I think i've now swayed towards staying in europe for the season, hitting resorts that are on my "list". (this is an actual list written on excel over the christmas period! :roll: ) I would then hit US/Canada next season, after some summer skiing in Chile/Argentina/New Zeland!

That's a heavy sum of cash. I'd (it's not going to surprise ANYONE)buy a home in Aschau or Zell. I would buy the Landhaus that I stayed at this October. I'd possibly purchase my own ski resort. If I had any money left, which I probably would. I would move my parents to Maui. I'd also get all of us together and we'd go skiing in __________ (insert cool resort)

Oh yeah I'd also have a private jet. :D

Your GBP50million is going pretty far I'd say... hope you are not looking for a big private jet or a large ski resort :wink:

I dont think i would have a problem on what to spend it on,But

Ha Ha. I would have to agree with AJ but would do a bit of what Brucie has said lol :-), just a bit. If it was the full 50mill+ I would have to buy some quality mountain retreats allover the world, oh and a new tele which i have been planning to buy for about a month. Any thoughts on the SONY KDL40W4000 or any LG/Panasonic 42"?

funny you mention that, apparently I've won the Spanish Gordo lottery today, not once but twice :lol: the letters actually came in the post which is a new one for me, apparently there's a lot of it about, the local police issued some warning.

I'd probably buy those new socks I've been thinking about.

Apparently over the last couple of weeks I have won the lottery, been left some money, some-one else has inherited a million and wants to share it with me if they can deposit it in my bank, and the latest some-one would like to give me an unsecured interest free loan they just want my bank details to deposit it in. All emails in my junk box :lol:

Mate's just got one - really stunning picture and decent built-in sound. Visit a few shops and see it next to some of your other candidates, but I doubt you'd be disappointed.

I might host a nice meal in the Kellerwirt in Oberau, along with all the J2Skiers that cared to join us, then all repair to the Bichlwirt, and listen to Herbert playing the Harp.

The following day, a few lazy runs with said fellow J2skiers down the Marbachjoch, stopping for Gluewein, and a view over the Kitzbuhleralps.

Then I would give the remaining 49.995 mill to Brucie, for him to spend wisely. :wink:

We get all those, this was the first time I've received it in the real post though, not once but twice, one at each address. Apparently it's widespread in Switzerland at the moment, I was just amazed at the organisation behind it, getting the mail addresses and paying the postage is a whole new level.

If I win ill take everyone on the thread for three weeks skiing in a 5 star hotel with hot and cold running chambermaids (and butlers for the ladies or if thats you bag)flown over in a private jet all expenses paid with new skis,and gear helicopter skiing and top guides.

Now shame on anyone elso who wins and isnt so generous.

Disclamer this only applies to a win over the 5 mill mark and not my usual GBP8.20

Am afraid if i win I'll carry on doing what I'm doing just in a bit more luxury.... :shock:

I will however justify that comment by adding that the year ahead involves a ski season in Canada (if I can get there since I'm currently holed up in a hotel in Newark due to flights being canceled yesterday) I'm then home for a month as my bro gets married and then a trip round the world beckons that will include skiing in Chile/Argentina and NZ!!

One difference the money would make is that I wouldn't work next years ski season but spend it playing again before deciding how to make a proper dent in the money!! :lol:

Wow, sounds like we're all in that lottery this Friday. I think that buying a few choice apartments around the world to chase the sun and snow would do me fine. I am a man of simple tastes.

better get on the thread pretty quick then...

my sensible head would buy somewhere for my boys so they can afford to leave home before they're 30, do all the house repairs, pay off the mortgage, have a season travelling ski resorts worldwide and buy a piano bar for the husband in our favourite.

I think GBP1,000,000 would do it, I'm not greedy :mrgreen:

:DI have already bought my ticket and put it in my lucky ski sock...mind you on past luck it might be better to call it my unlucky sock :D

I think the first thing i would do after making sure my family and closest friends were taken care of,would be to buy a 6 - 8 bdroom all ensuite chalet in the Tarentaise...but would have my main home in switzerland (on overlooking lake Geneva) for tax reasons :DOh i would not tell Gordon Brown where i ws going aswell....as no doubt the thieving little commie would try and steal some of it :D

On you're question about the cost of a smmall resort, since the fall of the pound and interest rates the commune of Sainte-Foy has banned people from putting for sale boards on their balconies, as if they had not it would look like the whole resort was for sale,50 million or so big ones would buy a lot of chalets.

My dream is a Chalet in St Martin de Belleville. The dearest one at the mo is a mere 2 million euros so I guess I would have a bit of change left over to host a party for all and sundry out there! I would give up work too - I think....

Well i got all excited when a txt came through saying we have some exciting news about the ticket you brought.......... I thought yes there is a god the computer has never taken so long to boot up, I Couldnt get my password right and then eventually there it was in all its glory GBP16 Exciting news!!!!!!!!!! God id hate to work in the Lottery office if thats their idea of exciting news cost me GBP12 for the bloody tickets.

still at least nobody else won it so thats a couple of quid towards next weeks rollover.

Nothing this time but when I win my plan is to ski all winter and dive all summer. Play it by ear during spring and autumn. Oh yeah, I'd have lots of nice watches too.
