Ski Hire

Hi all,

Am off to Montchavin (La Plagne) 5 weeks tomorrow. Ive looked at the ski and boot hire on this site and it comes out about EU150 for 8 days. Whats the going rate in French resorts at the moment? Anyone just come back?

I've always rented kit online with Intersport.

They've always been the cheapest, most helpful and best kit. They have a branch in Montchavin. Not used it, but have used others in the La plagne area.

Book now for best discounts.

Hey, my mate sent me this site - http://www.ski-republic.com/en/, its 2 for 1. Looks like they do this offer for la plagne too. A few of my mates in work have booked on this site and seemed to have done ok off it. We are going to Kaprun on Saturday but it seems they only cover French resorts (i think) so we have booked ours with a website called Snow Brainer.

All the best, I know booking booking can be tedious, however believe it is best doing it online for a good deal.

hello

just a (stupid)question iam going to tignes in march and we got our ski hire but for extra euro u can upgrade.how do you know if you got a good upgrade with the ski`s

ive only been a couple of times so wouldnt know a good set

Anybody know who does the best deals for Ski hire in Austria?

Off to Zauchensee on Sunday, and it would seem that Intersport is quite expensive.

I'm taking my own board, but its for my wife and sister in law, who are literally absolute beginner skiers so don't need any of the top end stuff (which I doubt you can hire anyway)

I was seduced by 2-for-1 Ski Republic offer, booked online in Val d'Isere, the shop was chaos, we didn't get the gear we reserved, it was all old when they said it would be new (rank with 'the cheque is in the post'), and the promised sexy footbeds were line a Scholl liner. It could just be that this branch was badly run... any other experiences?

My thinking is, will it make me ski better? Or, another way of looking at it, it's the price of a sandwich...

Used Ski Republic in Val d'Isere a few weeks ago, and found them to be very good. However, Snowberry across the road get exceptionally good reviews.

That's the cheapest upgrade I've ever heard of. Gonna be tricky for you to know whether you'll definitely get better skis, or whether they'll make you ski better.

I'd suggest that for only 5 euros, you trust the shop to give you better kit, and see for yourself how you ski.

i think we got that price because there is a large group of us 25-30 in our group so for the extra we get upgrade

It will be second trip this year. I still consider myself a beginner. Going to Niederau.

I'm being offered standard skis/ boots or superior ones as part of my package.

Which ones should I get?
