Very VERY last minute advice

Hello all!
Well our first ski trip is upon us, we are all off tomorrow morning to Gatwick to get the plane to St anton and i could not be more excited!!!!!
I do however have one more request, any last minute advice??? We have not got our ski passes yet or ski hire, the company we are going with (skival) have supplied taxis to the shop to get the ski hire, but will they guide us through the lift pass hire and ski school registration????
Im a little confuzzled about it all still!!!

I think it's likely that the Tour Op will be present in the ski hire, especially if they have made the booking on your behalf. They will earn a commission on your spend in the store. The same applies to ski school, and they may deliver your lift passes to your group, or you may have to collect them from a meeting place.

Don't worry too much, let them do their job and they will sort out what you need.
Enjoy :D

Re:Very VERY last minute advice

I'm equally off tomorrow (Serre Chevalier) and equally can't wait!!

We didn't book lift passes when we booked but, in hindsight, with the slump of the sterling, we should have done.

Passes in resort are 187 euros, which back then was about GBP140 "we can wait til we get there.... no probs"

Alas, now the passes will cost us GBP187+ BUT Neilson reps are selling them cheaper than in resort (according to neilson at 163euros)(i'm guessing due to the fact that they buy loads at a cheaper rate at the start of the season and will not want to lose too much to the euro)

So if you can, buy your passes from the reps!

Also, drinks prices are gonna be pretty horrific due to pound slump, you may wish to sneak a bottle of whiskey in the suitcase??

Also, DON'T wear a new pair of Nike Zooms to the gym the day before going.... I now have to negotiate a blister on each heel!!

Have Fun!!!

Put some Compeed blister plasters on those blisters, they work a treat. I can vouch for them, I need them every ski trip

Re:Very VERY last minute advice

Thankyou for the last minute advice. i have to admit im hoping that we can negotiate a few discounts. Last time i calculated the cost of ski hire, lift pass and 3 day ski school it is going to cost GBP526 full wack! Ive budgeted for it but any saving would be lovely to put to the expensive beer! How much is a jar of ale in st Anton?? does anyone know???

Re:Very VERY last minute advice

No idea, pretty sure there was a St. Anton ale price kicking about sHs but can't find it.

A SkiBig3 pass for 6 days is GBP320 or something daft like that, think yourself lucky
