What have you got on your wall at home ?

Being a bit of a saddo I collect ski memorabilia, and some of which my wife lets me put on the walls at home, before I show you my photos I would be interested if anybody out there is sad enough to do the same, where's my camera ??? :shock:

No ski memorabilia as such. My office walls about a dozen snow scene tapestries, all stitched by my own fair hand. Down the stairs three huge framed poster sized mountains and snow pics.
Lounge .......no snow just 11 Banksy canvases, not original I am afraid.
Hubbys office and some of the lounge........storm troopers, full size C3po,jabba the hut, and all other weird things.

Framed skiing cartoon in lounge entitled "Weekend Warriors". Framed print of Aguille du Midi in study, plus old skiing photo of me :oops: in mid air. No ski memorabilia though )

Haven't managed to negotiate skis on the wall yet, but our lounge features...

2 metre wide panoramic view of Mont Blanc above the fireplace...

cool blue print of an Alaskan peak on the other wall...

a photo of Grand Bornand's Lachat taken on a blue sky/powder day a few years ago... 8)

Alaska remains a dream but the other pics take me straight back to deeply-etched Glory Days that will stay with me forever... sweet.

They are doing good deals on Alaska Heli SKiing right now... what is stopping a high flying admin like you taking a week off :wink:

Here we go one set of skis, one set of snow shoes, seven various ski prints, another two in my office.........
I am still negotiating on a loverly mountain scene which I'm sure I will get the go head after Mrs W's ski holiday, well thats the plan. :wink:

I have three complete panoramic pictures of Hintertux. A 09' Tirol calender, an Austrian and German flag on my walls.

Admin. Alaska is another world. I was lucky enough to "kidnap" my parents and take them on a cruise up there. It's one of those places yo have to see before you kick the bucket. If you do, you must travel into the Inside Passage.

I've got nothing on my walls but a niederau screen saver on my pc and another on my laptop. They'll change to tignes once I've been to niederau :D

Lots of pictures of the kids on various ski trips looking very cute in their ski gear.

These are B&W photos taken by the professional photographers that hang around ski school meeting places - super quality and quite reasonably priced. I usually end up in the shop trying to stop the OH from buying every photo on the basis that we only have so much wall space and the kids are still young :lol:

I have a large gallery upstairs that looks over the living room by means of a steel walkway at one end, it is dedicated to all my snowboarding stuff.

The wall I'm looking at: A Tirol 2009 calender and a watercolour print of Salzburg.

I can't see the wall behind me for books/CDs/DVDs.

I'm quite surprised that more j2skier's have not displayed there passion on the wall at home,may I be so bold as to suggest that we all in future display a pair of antique skis/snow shoes as soon as possible, and may I add over the fire place would be a good place to display.

One wall in the kitchen is full of Niederau scenes:

The Gephof, Niederau

Conservatory walls have a few portraits, both oils and pencil, plus landscapes carried out in New Zealand, Austria, Wales.

My studio room, portraits of Jimi Hendrix and Bob Dillon, plus 50 to a 100 landscapes, mostly watercolour, leaning against the wall.

Living room, some water colours I did in New Zealand, and some originals by different folk.

And an original Turner water colour

Being a little sad (in the modern idiomatic use of the word) I have a framed piste maps of the L'Espace Killy and Valetellina (half-inched from a hotel I think years ago), a lovely photo of Saas Fee taken from Saas Grund and a gorgeous picture of the Elk range above Fernie - all on kitchen walls. Oh yes, and a ski canada calendar for 2009.

Your paintings are lovely Dave. I can not paint to save my life but I do loads of tapestries and needlepoint usually all snowy scenes and mountains. It makes my day if I can find a tapestry of whatever resort I am in. So hope I can pick some up in Finland.

I have always quite fancied a bit of painting, I've brought brushes, pallet, easel had them now for two years and they are still in the packs, I think I needed some inspiration and maybe dave has given me that, move over Van gogh here comes Van Wickham. 8)

Set aside a couple of hours, get your favourite ski photo out, and do it.

Have a look at it, and figure out what's wrong, do it again.

Man, it's no different from learing to ski, without the falls!

Oh, after my most recent creation, you are not allowed to change to Van. You will always remain the Wicked Wickham :wink:

I should have said, I don't usually paint from photos, (Hendrix and Dylan apart!), it is just an easy way to start.
