Ski Jacket Cleaning

I've got a Bonfire Safari jacket that I bought in 2007 and have just come to clean it before my next skiing trip. The only label I can find on it says dry clean only, which I find very strange for ski jackets. The only reason I can think of is that it has a satin lining. Does anyone know if dry cleaning would cause any damage to a ski jacket and would it still need waterproofing afterwards? I've got the Granger's cleaning and waterproofing products but am weary to use them. Thanks to anyone who can offer advice!

Re:Ski Jacket Cleaning

Sorry can't help with your query other than to suggest taking it to your dry cleaner and asking them - they'll have a good idea of what is suitable from their past experience.

On that topic however - is it necessary to water-proof your ski-wear following every time you wash it? What do people generally do to keep their gear clean as well as dry?
