It's a very busy time of year for me, so my visits to the forum might just be a little less frequent, so I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very merry christmas and a prosperous new year and most of all great skiing. X

Have a good 1 all!

Its our sections night out on Saturday locally known as "black eyed Saturday" and I guess we will bump into loads of people where I work as well which is usually when the black eyes start appearing. Sunday is Arsenal v Pool then my sons birthday on the Monday! :D Not a bad run up to Christmas and nearly time to go skiing :P

I think I have finally lost the plot, all the anticipation of hols and Xmas, coupled with the fact that its my most manic at work.
I got out of work last night, walked to the car park where my Hubby meets me. Opened the car door, said OMG what a manic day, I need a drink, the reply 'Never mind dear it will soon be over', except it was an old lady, not my OH, not my car :oops:.
My Hubby parked behind her, killing himself laughing. I need a holiday.

Hubby is taking the pee out of me........old ladies car vauxhall astra........our car suburau imprezza........dont really look any-thing alike.
I have a hospital appointment this afternoon he says he will come with me in case I try to get in an ambulance to come home.

I am definitely in need of a holiiday now, too. Today I had an angry parent (who is barely old enough to qualify as an adult herself) ranting at me because no one told her last week that her daughter had been involved in a squabble. I let her rant and responded calmly and professionally. She continued to rant, told me a list of people that had'p****d' her off and then said that I too was 'p***ing' her off now. She then said what kind of a headteacher are you? You look like a tramp. (I was wearing my new North Face jacket!) I calmly walked away only thinking what I would be doing this time in two weeks (skiing) Then I asked the admin officer to call the police and ask them to remove a parent from the premises...she left quickly. :x

After that I went to the dentist to have my new crown fitted...it didn't fit...got to have a temprary tooth all over the holiday! My OH, my sons and my colleagues are all calling me a toothless tramp now :shock:

I need to get away :!:

Some parents never cease to amaze me. A 14 year old was caught shoplifting yesterday, 100 quids worth of make-up. Security called police and her parents because of her age. The father never said a word but the mother went ballistic. She said we should never have called the police just the parents. She said she was a long standing customer of ours, security's reply was 'not any-more Madam you are all banned'

We are the childs third school...the last school are taking the mother to court and the police have already removed her from our premises once. That was in the first week! It's such a shame because the daughter is lovely (at the moment).

How dare she insult my NF jacket!!!

No it most certainly isnt. I have worked for 2 companies in Wales; 1 in Blackwood, the other in Merthyr Tydfil. I have not come across such anti English feeling anywhere else in the world, although I am not labelling all Welsh people like that of course!

Where else in the world can you translate "Services" with about 42 letters beginning with GW and ending in EU, or fill words with letters that are pronounced totally different. Cymru - whats that all about for starters?

Now come on .... don't tar us all with the same brush.
You wouldn't catch me going to Merthyr on my own - they're a different breed up there (Sorry to offend if anyone on here is from Merthyr) unless you're a native of the place, you feel kind of out of place, so you've probably not got a fair impression of the majority of us. Most of us are not anti english, we just like to jest a little. And if we can beat the english at anything, it's a plus, and we like to make the most of it, 'cause it probably doesn't happen very often.

I take your point about the length of some words though - it sometimes irritates me, and welsh is my first language!! But, welsh is a really easy language to follow honestly- it's completely phonetic. You say what you see. Simple. There's none of this silent letters or spelling rules like the english language

It takes a bit more than that to rile me, so you're gonna have to try a bit harder I'm afraid !

C'mon Tony, put a smile on your face, practice your welsh, and I may even buy you a drink in Niederau if it's good enough.

It's a legal requirement to call both the police and the parents, when dealing with a minor and shoplifting. :evil:

I am so gutted, all I have ever wanted to do at Xmas was be away somewhere in the alps with snow on Xmas day. Its written in my work contract......no holiday from 1st to 31st December. Found out to-day, off xmas day and boxing day, my day off for this week will be Saturday, off Sunday, day off for next week will be Monday, Tuesday will be the day they owe me for working my last day off and Wednesday will be the Xmas shopping day that they could not give me before Xmas cos too many staff were off sick...........I could have gone away :cry: :cry:

I have sort of the same problem, there is 9 peolpe in our team and only 2 people allowed off at the same time. Im supposed to work boxing day & 27th however its my turn to pick the days I want off over Chrimbo so I picked 26th & 27th. No one wanted the 2 nights off so Ive booked them off also! :D We could of all gone for a late booking over Chrimbo :cry:

I work for myself so am lucky that I can go whenever. Unfortunately, OH has a real job as a nurse and we have to work round her shifts. BOO!

Why am I here? I have mince pies to bake, food to prepare, a consignment from Santa to secrete into the lounge.
