Easter 09 ski trip around Turin recommendations please

Hi

I'm organising a ski trip over Easter (10th-13th Apr) some myself and work colleagues and would appreciate any pointers on resorts and accommodation that you guys can give me

We are a party of 6 men and the flights to Turin have already been booked. Although we are all mid 30's to mid 40's we do like to party quite hard but think that we're a little bit too old for Sauze

My original idea ( and still favoured choice) was to go to Cervinia because we should be pretty much guaranteed snow but I have been having difficulties getting accommodation for only 3 nights. We're ideally looking for something 4* with a sauna and maybe a pool but will look at any if recommended highly

Does anyone have anything to suggest in Cervinia or can you suggest another resort not too far from Turin which will have snow at that time of year?

Thanks in advance for any help

Rob
At that time of the year, you should be aiming to go high to have a reasonable chance of snow. I haven't been to Cervinia but from memory, it is quite high and would probably be your best bet from Turin.

As for partying, I am not sure you should be heading to Italy at all but I guess its too late for this advice . Apres ski in Italy tends to be very chilled out. Sauze is probably the main exception but I expect you would be very lucky to get half decent snow conditions there at that time of the year.

For future reference, I think you could not beat the high Austrian resorts, e.g. St Anton, for late snow and high octane partying that is suitable for all ages .

Try La Thuile, I had a short break there a couple of years ago in March, much easier to book 3/4 days in the hotels and chalets. Although snow can be thin in resort but great higher up links in to La Rosiere, night life is very quite.
If you you want information on where I stayed send me Pm.

I enjoyed the skiing in la Thuile as well it looks a nice place but we stayed in la Ros and skied across ...the Italian skiing is better than the French..we skied there most of the time..courmayeur (stayed there last year) is OK but you can go to other resorts on the pass (la thuille Pila and Cervinia ) but it is spread out

You are most certainly not too old for Sauze. Its a good place, lovely skiing area, but beware the inconsistent snow fall. Otherwise, highly recommended.
