Morzine for non skiers

I've got a ski weekend to Morzine booked for 1st March and I'm wondering what else is in the town to occupy a non skier.

Unfortunately I bust my knee last week in Austria and it is unlikely that I will be fit in time to ski in 5 weeks. It's a 'girlie' weekend without kids and partners and the others are all urging me to just come and chill. I'm really tempted - after all it's all paid for and the insurance won't cough up coz I can still travel I just can't ski - but am wondering what else there is to do? I'm not looking for strenous activity but maybe some light mooching around, also how easy would it be to meet my friends on the mountain for lunch?

Any ideas gratefully received.

Ta

Sharon

Well where do I start? There is a gym in Morzine with sauna and jacuzzi, there is an ice skating rink with regular ice hockey matches so you can sit back and watch lots of hunky skaters bashing the crap out of each other! There are a couple of beauty/health institutes, so you can get a massage and other beauty treatments. There are some great shops, two cinemas showing English films. You can get a cable car up to meet your friends for lunch and enjoy the views and the sunshine (hopefully) There are loads of good gentle walks if your knee is up for it, accessible from the centre of town. There are loads of good bars and restaurants: try the Dixie, the Rhodos, the Cavern and the Buddha. The tourist office arrange lots of activities too: guided visits of the town and a dairy if that tickles your fancy, get a programme from them when you arrive. If you need any other info or contacts just mail back or check out my website: www.allaboutthealps.com
