Advice please!

Doing a Europe tour Dec to Jan. I need advice on where to go from Budapest to hit some epic slopes Europe has to offer. I've been snowboarding for 17 years and put myself on the high end of the skill cap. I only want one day on the slopes so no where too far away. I hear great things about monterosa and so far leaning that way.
From Budapest(1-5-17) I can fly to Lugano, Milan, MXP. Public transportation is very important because I wont be renting a car.

I fly out of MXP airport to go home on the 10th

Just want to pick everyones brains to see what else is out there.

Re:Advice please!

Just came back from Val Di Sole, Italy. Whislt there was no snow on the ground at lower levels, there was plenty of snow on the pistes.
There was a lot of snowboarders on this resort, and were some dedicated runs for boarders with pipes / jumps etc.
Hope this helps.
