Resort ideas for group of 12-14 mixed ability skiers.

Sorry for starting what is probably another one of "those" types of topics threads, but I did try the search option with different wordings and nothing relevant seemed to came up!

There is a group of mixed ability skiers, beginners, intermediates and overweight, unfit advanced skiers looking to get away next February. The costs for some of the group is a little limiting so ideally somewhere where lift passes are under the GBP200 level. And not flying into chamberey airport :( and preferably not needing ski bus to slopes. France, Austria,Italy or Switzerland. Some of the group skied la rosiere last year which was great.
We are looking to short list about 6 or 8 resorts that we can democratically decide between us for our final choice.
We have la rosiere and flaine at the moment.

Thank you for your help and suggestions and if anybody could give me a link to another "best resort for a group" threads that would be great! :)

Thank you
:)

For your mixed group I would recommend Alpes des Huez in France or Saul d,Oulx Italy, however not sure about Flaine for beginners and it's lack of resort amenities. I'm no expert hope this helps. Andy

Alpes D'Huez would be a good choice as AD says.
Plenty of varied terrain, easy to find your way round, meet up at pitstops etc.
Lower prices than the mega resorts.
Unbelievable (best I have ever seen) easy slopes right in the resort.

Of the resorts I've been to, Risoul has some good long green runs round and about the resorts (but not as good as Alpe D'Huez looks on the piste map - never been though). Risoul is good in that all runs lead back to the resort (just about). Les Deux Alpes has some good beginners runs in town, and some great runs on the glacier to progress on to - odd piste layout, though, in LDA - bit of a marmite resort. For beginners and early intermediates, Hemsedal in Norway is good. But not much for better intermediates or advanced skiers. With all resorts, I'd have an eye on which weeks are likely to be busy. French resorts are generally busier during French school hols. Hemsedal is rammed during Oslo winter break.

Re:Resort ideas for group of 12-14 mixed ability skiers.

Hi we went to Saalbach, Austria as a group of 12 families with the kids in each family ranging in age from 4 to 18 and the total age range from 4-61years. Completely mixed abilities and ski experience and 1 boarder with us. Huge ski area. Saalbach-Hinterglemm Ski Circus. Small but pretty, mostly pedestrianised village. Loads of really nice mountain restaurants and some were even easily accessed by non-skiers via cable car. Easy to meet up at one of the 4 lifts/gondolas to ski together in small or large groups and so many routes to choose from and buses back to town for those would get too tired doing a whole circular route. Everyone found their way back to meet up at 4pm ish in a fun, lively pisteside bar Bauer's Schialm. We all booked for 2017 while we were still there.

Really all depends on how much you want to ski together? Are we talking about meeting for lunch or just for Apres ski?

Hello, sorry for my tardy replies to your helpful comments.
Thank you Angus, your link is very helpful :)

Ranchero, it's pretty much a case of people meeting up at the end of the day for a beer and chat more so than having to meet for lunch and things. :)
