What do you all think about this......?

One of the reasons I like Snowsports is the tranquility of the mountains when compared to city life. I also enjoy listening to music and fully understand that many people would prefer music different to my preference, and indeed there are many diverse types of music.

Occasionally when skiing or boarding I come across someone who is skiing/boarding around playing loud music from a device located in his backpack. I find this very annoying because it disrupts the tranquility of the mountains and forces me and others to listen to music that I don't care for. If he wants to listen to music then why doesn't he just wear headphones!

Am I being a miserable old so and so or do others here share my grievance and if the latter how do you think it should be dealt with.

They should be used as mobile targets for Biathletes to train on! :)

Well I've only read 2 of your posts Furthy 34 and I'm already glad our paths will never cross whilst I'm out enjoying myself in France

I think you just need to accept skiing is the ultimate bad etiquette sport:
Lifts going 1/2 full as people can be separated from friends for few minutes
Skiers on slopes which are beyond their ability:
Can't hold a consistent line
Need to stop every 100m for rest
Etc. etc.
Hence best not to worry too much, as am sure we all fall foul at times of annoying people. Only difference is how we rationalize as being acceptable behavior.

I have only read 1 of your posts and I am also glad. In any case you wouldn't be able to keep up with me .

This thread was a bit tongue in cheek of course but it seems tou are the only one who disagrees.....maybe you are one of those people who carry speakers in their backpack
