IT support in ski resorts

Good evening! It's been quite some time since my last post on this forum back when I was looking for work/info on resorts when I done ski repping... I'm back again and looking for some more specific work in a ski resort.

Been searching for computer analysts/network engineer type work- preferably within a chalet. Do any of you happen to know the best place to look for such work?

Thanks! :D

Still kicking around here Dave! I remember speaking to you previously about Niederau- was where I done my first season as a resort rep with DirectSki.com

How are things with yourself? - It's a tall order indeed but my career at home has been within IT support/networks so I was curious to see if there was similar work out in the mountains.

All good, Baillie, still headed downhill!

I guess one issue is that the Tirol education system is so good, the kids start specialising at 14 years of age. The skills output is at the highest level in Europe.

Also, it is not the type of work area expertise that we think about in relation to the alps, although, of course, that skill is required in every walk of life.

I will have a think about it, mainly about who would be a good contact.
Re:IT support in ski resorts

This type of work is usually done by locals so the jobs are often full time, not much chance of getting much skiing in during the week. WND AG in Zermatt are currently looking for a full time Junior ICT System Specialist http://www.jobszermatt.ch/de/diverses-handwerk/

Re:IT support in ski resorts

SB's comment took me back. When I was in that situation, wanting to obtain some engineering contract work, I approached agencies. This approach carried me over the gap between several seasons. I rarely waited more than 2/3 days between initial contact and starting work. Even when I worked in Australia, the same approach and timescale was operational.

I agree with SB that in general, contract work would not normally allow time for skiing, ~ unless, of course, you choose a place with night time skiing!
