Where to go on Tuesday 15th Dec?

I have flights to Geneva early Tuesday to Friday and a hire car booked but cannot decide where to go....

Must have snow (of course), some life even so early in the season and ideally not too far from Geneva so that we can ski for a few hours on Tuesday.

Snow forecast and conditions seem to be changing hourly - I had thought Avoriaz but now not so sure.

Any suggestions based on on the ground knowledge would be most appreciated.

Cheers

Drive for two and a half to either Val Thorens or Tignes. There are both a bit far but have the most skiing available at the moment.

Have to agree with Gareth - you need to go high.

I'm in Les Arcs this week (see Les Arcs Snow Report); the snow on the pistes is actually pretty good from 1800m upward but if you're looking lower than that then you'll need North-facing slopes...

It'll be interesting to see how the conditions develop but there's good skiing at altitude.
