Alpe D Huez Lift Pass

Hi, Having broken my own rule not to look at webcams or to start dreaming of the hills before 1st December, I have now spent the entire morning doing nothing but thinking of skiing, updating computer cover photos (snowy mountains)and viewing online piste maps.

My question relates to my ski holiday to Alpe D'huez at end of Jan. The lift pass offers days skiing at various resorts and I'm wondering whether to spend the 6 days in Alpe D'Huez or take a day to ski Serre Chevalier and a day to look at L2A. I have skied L2A for a week before and have had a day in Alpe D'Huez but never visited Serre Chevalier.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated :)

I think it depends on transport situation. You can get a helicopter to l2a quite cheaply. Sounds odd, but true. I think there's a bus a couple of times a week to LDA. Don't know about serre.

What Dobby said... (think the helicopter is around Euro60ish) but if you've done L2A before, and transport's easy, then Serre Che's definitely worth a day out.

I doubt SC will be possible. I think the drive involves the Col Du Lauteret - which is a continuation of the La Grave road mentioned on a previous thread as a temporary road around the lake. So not only is this route on a dodgy road the Col is frequently closed, especially if there has been recent snow.
Other SC routes involve a huge detour

Thanks for the responses. Pity about SC as I thought it would be a chance to have a little look at somewhere I haven't been. Oh well hopefully ADH will give me plenty to go at for 6 days and if not I can always have a day at L2A. Thanks again.

I've done a day at SC during a week at ADH, most holiday firms run a weekly coach. Highly recommended, great resort.

They won't be running coaches this season Andy (see the details of the temporary road here) although mini-buses might work?
