Arch support insoles for skiing?

I was well on my way to being really good.. honest! However on my last skii trip I badly tore my arches in my feet.. ie got plantar fasciitis so I was wondering if wearing arch supports can help me so it doesn't happen again.. I was thinking of getting some like these:

Or do I go for custom insoles?? Any ideas :) cheers!

Do you require insoles in you day to day shoes?

If not what you are really describing is a lack of flexibility in the ankle and this is something that can be worked on. This is something that I am prone to suffer from when skiing. Yes I have high arches but it is only skiing that brings on the real pain. The lack of flexibility if forcing your foot to flatten as your ankle locks out. This also pre-disposes you to knee injuries as there is a tendency for your knees to bend inwards in order to further increase the range of motion. Customs insoles and the placement of a cork wedge under the heel will both help but ultimately stretching is the 'real' cure.
Re:Arch support insoles for skiing?

The symptoms of FP are usually clear. A good clue is if you have sharp heel pain when you wake up, and stretch ~ this is repairing cells, breaking apart again. Painful to walk for extended distances. My feet succumbed after 20,000+ miles of competitive running, and several seasons skiing.

I had a pair of custom made innersoles made on the NHS. I also use a standard pair, bought from Boots.

These are what I have used in my ski boots and day shoes for the past 20+ years. I suffer no pain from that area. (Lots from elsewhere...)
