Driving in France with Swiss hire car

Done the hire car in Switzerland and driven in France many a time. However, this year I will be the driver whereas previous years has been my dad so I have not had to think about details.

When I drove in france in summer in my own car, I took my own triangle, high vis and breathalysers

My question, if I hire a car from Switzerland should I expect them to be in the car?

Triangle is a requirement in Switzerland too, so should (!) always be one in a Swiss hire car.

High vis and breathalyser thingy I think you'll need to bring yourself.

Good question though; we didn't think of this when we hired last year! :oops:

Will chuck the hi vis in hand luggage then. Gotta love easy jet unlimited weight hand luggage :) an breath thingy in luggage

The local plod won't care if the broker said it was ok when you called from England

Breathalysers are no longer necessary in France.

When I went in August there was no clarity so it was better safe than sorry.

The legislation which requires them is still in place, but the legislation which provides for a fine has been repealed.
So,technically they are required, but there is no penalty under law for not carrying them.(If that makes it any clearer!!)
