Stocking Fillers

Ok everyone, get your thinking hats on.

With Christmas just around the corner it is time to start thinking of some stocking fillers ski/snow related. Task for you to suggest some good ones. I have just one on the list so far and that is the Wipe-Out piste map goggles cloth. Any other suggestions?

Budget - GBP15 (GBP20 if it is excellent present!!)

I was given a set of place mats, and printed on them were piste maps of places that I had skied in America, Canada, and Europe. Treasured.

Last year, I gave coffee mugs to all family and friends skiers, each with a photo of them skiing. I got this done at Vistaprint. (Two mugs to each person, allows for a breakage!)

I have previously bought Wipe-Out cloths for family and also those Silk liner gloves.
Liner gloves have been very well received.

Inclinometer?? What's that? Measure any inclination to s**t yourself? :shock:

I have a digital inclinometer which is the waste of money since it doesn't work with temperatures of 0 and below. I also have a Theodolte application on iPhone with the same problem - the phone dies very quickly when out in sub-zero temperatures. I had to learn to use the ski poles to figure out the angle of the slope. It's a less precise method that gives about 2 degrees error either way, but at least it works in all conditions.

A hip-flask obviously!!!!!!!! Then some Drambuie to go in it, and mini chocolate bars (I would recommend Bounty, though Mars bars are nearly as good)to round off the joie de vivre

This gave me a past memory flash.

A million years ago, in between ski seasons, I worked on contract for a company to design and build a machine for boxing and palletising Mars Bars.
At the end of the build, we were supplied with a small lorry load of Mars bars. The only instructions were ~ should any of the mars bars be damaged, they were not to be returned.
The result was within my design/build brief, even so, it was just amazing how few of the products survived the testing. In fact, only the final two batches worked, (like a dream)
I then had decisions to make..... how to get rid of one ton of Mars Bars......
Almost everyone in Niederau were given boxes of MBs, along with all relatives, running club friends, fell runners, and others. Our close Scottish relatives kept a gross of MBs in a box under the bed....

How about:
a ski lock, ski carrier strap, velcro ski strap (for keeping skis together), edge stone, Ski balaclava, snood, some of those disposable heat packs.
Have a wonder around some of the winter sports suppliers websites, there are loads of knick knacks that make great stocking fillers.

Vistaprint have some great things if you can upload photos for them to use
