My reaction from having bought a few helmets for my two kids, is go to the shop and TRY them on for comfort and perfect fit...that'll narrow-down the choices considerably....then choose the coolest style/colour from what's left.

From my experience you'll have a choice of one or two brands that fit properly and then a choice of one or two colours offered by the brand.

Kids' head shapes vary greatly and so just because a brand has got cool designs doesn't mean it'll keep them safe. My suggestion: If you go for fairly plain colours then you can always add 'decals' to personalise.

(It must be nearly Autumn as I'm starting to read J2Ski again)
