Accommodation in St Anton Austria

Hello all,

I'm planning on a 3 months trip to St Anton next winter, which I'm very excited about!
Accommodation however is proving to be extremely expensive, almost too expensive to be worth the trip.

Ive never been to Austria or even skied on Europe, only North America, NZ and of course Australia. I dont really know how it works, or the best way to find places to stay.
Has anyone got any ideas on where I can start looking for accommodation for 3 months that's not going to cost $10,000Euro??!!

I'm not looking for luxury. Just a small apartment, or room with cooking facilities, clean and warm close to the centre of town. I would also be happy for a house share, or similar.

I must be missing something, or some way of searching for this type of accommodation. Is the an Austrian equivalent to the American 'Craigs List' or Australia's 'Gum Tree, etc....?

Better yet if anyone is thinking about going to St Anton next winter for 3 months, lets split the cost of a bigger place..!!

Also does anyone know if there anyway of organizing cheaper seasons passes? Can you get passes cheaper if you are a student?

Cheers,
James :)
(Melbourne Australia)
