Question from the Olympics

A small matter that has been bothering me (only a little) since the TV coverage of freestyle, half-pipe and slopestyle from Sochi?

Why do the competitors wear their goggles inside their helmets? Is there a technical reason or are they just trying to be cool? (I think it looks daft, by the way).

Its like wearing beanies inside their helmets.
Or having their pants down to their knees.
Its cool.

I guess I must be cool then, as I wear my goggles on my neck around the side at a funny angle, and I saw all the kool kidz doing that in Sochi. Wow

I noticed how short the freestyler's ski poles were. I get that this is for practical reasons but it hasn't stopped me from using my daughter's ski poles just so I can complete the look :)

Yes, and make sure they're pointing put at 90 degrees from your knees. I do this when I really want to annoy a particular mate of mine. And start singing made up songs about being a park rat. Thinking about it, I must be a bit loony tunes,
